1.6 is a 14. I'm guessing that was the initial piercing size? 3mm is a 9, not really a size used in the US lol.

People who have their baby's ears pierced are 18. For example, my mother's ear is a 16. The four piercings I've had on my face were 14s. I just like how they look. The thing about any hole still measured in gauges is that they can still close completely. If I left my plugs out for a few weeks, they'd be back down in no time.
