Hey Tai, I want into the model building hobby, but I have no idea what brands are good for what and stuff. Mentor me in your ways.
Hey Tai, I want into the model building hobby, but I have no idea what brands are good for what and stuff. Mentor me in your ways.
Okay! For availability in kits and whatnot, you'll probably run into Revell/Monogram the most. Revell kits are carried in most Michael's art supply shops, and they have a pretty good variety of aircraft amongst themselves. Most Revell kits have raised panel lines, but the Revell-Germany kits (the ones in blue boxes) have nice recessed panel lines. Revell is pretty much the Echo 1 of aircraft modeling. For quality and price, Tamiya will be the best bang for your buck. Tamiya kits are easy to assemble, and look great when finished. It's almost magical with how detailed they are with such simple construction. They also feature nice realistic engraved panel lines, like real planes do. Generally speaking, Tamiya has ships, planes, and tanks. Their tanks are the best on the market. Tamiya is pretty much G&G of modeling. Hasegawa has the best planes, with good variety and detail. They're also relatively easy to assemble with minimal fitting problems and whatnot. Their airplanes are better than Tamiya's, and their ships are comparable. I've yet to build Hasegawa armor though, so can't give input. Hasegawa is like VFC. Specialize in one topic, but do well in others. Airfix, Italeri, and Hobbyboss are the other good brands you want for kits, especially their newer stuff. Academy ain't bad either. As for paints, Testors and Model Master Enamels will probably be the most widely available, but Tamiya Acrylics cover the most surface with least amounts of paint used, so I recommend those.

I think I'm mostly going to do cars over aircraft, but some armor might be thrown in eventually. Also, what's the difference between enamel and acrylic paints?

I was reading the life and times of Onoda Hiroo Known for: being an Imperial Japanese officer for holding out ~29 years after WWII ended simply because his commanding officer told him to engage guerilla war and never surrender (or suicide). He then evaded capture and fought against filipino polees who probably thought he was a crazy as fuck armed gunman and stoled occasional supplies from local population. The Jap guy that found him 29 years later had to get his commanding officer to tell him to stand down (because he takese orderz from NOONE except [del]ROY CAMBELL[/del] his commanding officer that issued the orders) which the commanding officer later did. He finally got to meet his family members after being listed as KIA for a decade or two. He later left Japan because it was full of pansies unlike WWII and now lives in Brazil. hue I shed a manly tear when I saw footage of him saying hi to his mum; we should have badass servicemen/women of the week every week or so inb4 simo hayha and jack chirchill and r lee ermey

So tonight me, my brother and my mom and some of her friends are going to Halloween Horror Nights. I'm pretty excited because I went before like 2 years ago and really liked it, but I'm a bit worried because tonight is the opening night and its going to be so fucking crowded and lines are going to be massively long.
I just got a Galaxy SIII ifap c: You wouldn't believe the looks I got on iPhone 5 release day walking into the AT&T store to buy a Galaxy SIII.
I just got a Galaxy SIII ifap c: You wouldn't believe the looks I got on iPhone 5 release day walking into the AT&T store to buy a Galaxy SIII.
Does the battery die twice as fast as the SII because the SII is capable of dying with just a few hours of constant use on absolute lowest brightness.
I have no idea. I just got it like 2 hours ago and I never had a S2.
