I am going down the same road myself, and it is tough. Warrant officership is super competitive nowadays, and putting my flight packet together is a little daunting. My best advice is to spread your connections and look for pilots that you may know or your family knows. Study for the AFAST and make sure you have good ASVAB line scores. I am looking at becoming a warrant officer in two years, and the wait is absolutely killing me, but anything that is worth it is worth waiting for.

I've had dinner with a Warrant Officer V my family knows, and we also know a UH-60 pilot who I'll be meeting at some point. I'll probably get another recommendation from my Terrorism/Counterterrorism professor as he spent a lot of years in the Army and the Government, and I know a fair amount of other people too. Right now my main issues are finding a way to finish and pay for college as an alternate or precursor to the military, and getting myself physically and mentally prepared for the military. The biggest issue for me is that if I follow my degree I'd be very in demand for a lot of jobs that pay very well and would be interesting to do, whereas in the military I'd be competing very hard to get the best job ever but have it pay only moderately and have a lot of negatives (Army lifestyle being my biggest concern).

I've been in almost this exact situation before and it just ended up in pain for me. I was skipping political science to go talk to a counselor too about the exact same crap from this post but then I found out they're all booked up until next friday.

If you do have one, seize it. Maybe when she is about to go to her class when you are walking to class, pop it in.

One thing you gotta think about is that getting rejected really is not a big deal at all. Seriously, at all. Try not to worry about it so much, helps to build up your confidence. ;)
