Best thing is to spend the few weeks it'll take to get over it, and leave her alone. Being her friend right now will make it worse, so just ignore her existence for a while. Don't turn your feelings to anger or depression, and remember that most relationships don't last forever (just don't wait every day for it to happen) One thing I learned is that when you're really all about one person you don't realize the good things about other ladies, so there's a good chance there's someone you haven't noticed yet who's pretty neat.

I mean, like she didn't actually get with somebody. Its just someone got to her for Homecoming before me. For the last 3 weeks or so, I've been writing her a song to ask her. And I even ordered the best flowers anywhere and today during my football game(shes a cheerleader) I ask at halftime. And I get the answer that shes been asked already. The song I wrote for a month was wasted and christ the flowers useless. She looked really shocked and yet probably felt an urge of sadness for me, cause I could see in her eyes that she would have said "Yes" too. So Im here in my room, listening to melochony songs and sitting in bed face down in a pillow, Instead of hanging out with her after being successful.

Well now I really want to ask out this girl before it becomes too late. I just hope I run into her again soon.

Then you're just fine man. It certainly sucks, but you can easily ask her out after the dance now that she knows you have an interest in her. Basically you did all the hard work without a rejection, just a temporary setback.

I'd just be worried she wouldn't be there and one of her roommates would answer and then tell her that I came looking for her and shit would get awkward. Plus there's not much we can do on campus and we can't go off campus because I have no car and her car is broken. I met my current girlfriend in 7th grade by being dumb on the first day of school and accidentally walking into the girl's bathroom to wash my hands and having her come out of the stall to see me and laugh and make a remark about how I'm not female. (she's actually a school year ahead of me :x) So yeah. No way anything you do will be more embarrassing than what I did.

We almost had a disaster on our hands. I thought I saw the girl on the phone sounding like she was talking to a guy. Then a minute later I saw her for real snd she was by herself. I didn't talk to her but crisis temporarily averted.
