that happened to me with my big toe, i lost the nail and it grew back about half way, it's rad.

although expect a lot of blood when it comes off, and dont do what i did and tear it off

No don't expect a lot of blood if you just let it come off naturally. It'll have dried by the time it comes off if you give it time, IF it comes off. Either it'll be fine and the blood will go away eventually (happens) or it'll pop off naturally and the nail will grow back fully (although slowly).
