God, the Long Dark was a fresh cool wind when it comes to survival games. I do wish there was a coop mode.

Precisely why I found it so interesting. These are the mechanics they add for immersion are something that you should keep in mind in real life as well, which i found really interesting. It isn't like "in your face [B]HARDCORE[/B] realism" imo.
How many of these open world survival games are there going to be? I feel like it's gonna get saturated like how WW2 FPS games were a very common thing around the mid 2000s.
I'm not saying it's a bad game. In fact, I think the inventory system and ability to climb over/through windows is a godsend. I'm just thinking that it might be bad timing for this game coming out considering all the lookalikes.
This is coming up to be Breath of the Wild level ambitious.
I was really hoping it'd be an open world prison break game, not some shitty zombie survival.

it has always been some sort of "game show survival" kind of deal sadly, where people put to death would instead try to survive on an island

This is another thing, I don't know what it even has to do with prison besides you starting out with prison clothing. It seems a little bullshit to call a prison survival game when you're just running around an abandoned forest full of zombies.
