I'm in AP European History, but I'm not taking the exam because I was too late to sign up and don't have the money.
AP Physics B on the 14th. Unfortunately we had ALOT of first year guys(I had taken Physics before), but these new guys just slowed down class for us..
My senior friend is in ap gov and he told me DONT TAKE AP GOV
Same thing she told me. She's going nuts studying.
Update: Essentially, things for me have reversed. I wrote a bunch of outlines for the AP Lit and wrote out a couple of them and I'm feeling pretty good about the Lit exam in general. AP US, on the other hand, is a little bit less good. I'm pretty good with more modern history (Reconstruction-Present Day) and thematic questions aren't too difficult, but specific, pre Civil-War questions are really tripping me up. I haven't looked at too many of the history essays, that's for tomorrow, but I'm pretty confident in my essay writing abilities, so it's really just this multiple choice section that's looking challenging right now. Besides blindly memorizing this era of history, any of you guys have thoughts on this dilemma?
I took AP World History my sophomore year and got a 4, took the AP US History test junior year and got a 4 also. Junior year I also took the AP Language and composition test and only got a 3 (bummer). This year I decided to not stress myself out much and I'm not taking the AP lit or AP Calc tests even though I am in the classes.
Just AP English an comp this year, next year it will be Biology, U.S History, Literature and maybe Enviormental
Time for Chem and Psych students to study up!
Goddamn AP Chemistry, I can't remember the soichiometry equations.
Stoichiometry* All you have to worry about is canceling units.
I only took U.S. History this year, seeing as it's the only AP class that was offered to my year. Next year I plan on taking English Language and Government, despite the fact I'm more likely than not going to regret taking two AP courses in one year.
I wish my school had more AP classes, like AP Latin and AP Music Theory. I'd love those classes.
AP US History on the 23rd, my teacher expects me to get a 5 considering my 99 average. If I don't, it will be the biggest anticlimax of my life to date. (it's not an eventful life)
I'm taking AP Human Geo. It's the only AP class for my grade at my school. Any suggestions from any veterans?
AP Psychology for me. I think it's pretty funny that the college board awarded our school district their AP District of the Year Award (for small districts) and yet we only offer 6 of the courses on that list.
I'm taking AP Human Geo. It's the only AP class for my grade at my school. Any suggestions from any veterans?
The test is 95% vocabulary. My favorite question that was asked was when they showed a picture of a cathedral and asked what religion it pertained to. Not many questions like that though. Also for the FRQs, make sure you answer the question. Then support your answer with as many vocabulary terms you know. The test is pretty easy if you've been reviewing. I passed up on an FRQ I couldn't answer for my life and passed with a 3.
ap gov. i'm fucked. had an amazing teacher, but he died of a really rare disease halfway through the year and got replaced by some stupid lady who, to her credit, tries, but is ultimately no substitute. i've learned next to nothing from her.
Just AP Bio. I'm pretty confident, I've had a five on every mock test I've taken so far, and that was before anybody told me how the essays were scored, so I was writing literally the bare minimum. As long as I review a little and refresh my memory it'll be good. I'm planning to take AP chem next year. How hard is it in comparison to bio? The teacher who teaches it at my school is not very good, so I'll have to really do a lot of learning on my own, but this year I had chem and I did pretty good.
Teacher taught us nothing but electricity and magnetism the entire year in AP Physics C. Turns out the school only signed us up for the mechanics section.
I did okay on the AP Biology test in high school. Nobody passed the AP Chemistry test. After that, my school stopped offering AP classes. I wish I went to a school that had an actual selection in classes.
My high school offered one single AP course (psychology) but there was only a few people interested so it never went forward. Looking back I'm glad though. My last couple years of high school were the most relaxing years of my life. I took the bare minimum to get into engineering and that was it.
Anyone got any tips on taking the AP Psych test? I should probably be reviewing Psych instead of playing Super Monday Night Combat.
Oh fuck ap chem tomorrow oh fuck oh fuck I just want a 3 :(
Anyone got any tips on taking the AP Psych test? I should probably be reviewing Psych instead of playing Super Monday Night Combat.
I reread the entire text book over the course of the week leading up to the test. There's still time? I would also suggest memorizing some of the key concepts in the form of a list. For instance, you're more likely to receive an essay question on the experiments/methods section than any other topic in the course, so you should go ahead and pre-plan an essay, or at least get some steps in mind. I have: 1. Develop your theory (Of Course) 2. Identify/Assign your independent and dependent variables. You should also assign operational definitions. 3. Choose the method that you will be utilizing (Lab/Naturalistic observation etc) 4. Obtain permission to conduct your study from an Institutional Review Board 5. Identify the population that you will be drawing participants from 6. Utilize stratified sampling to make sure that sub-groups are represented proportionally with your participants 7. Brief your participants. A degree of deception is permissible if a substantial degree of mental or physical harm is not involved. 8. Use group matching to make sure that sub-groups are represented proportionally within your control and experimental groups. 9. Furthermore, make sure that there are no differences between your control and experimental groups with the exception of the independent variable. 10. Use a double blind so that neither you nor your participants will know what group they were assigned to. Only your confederates will be aware of this information until the studies conclusion. This simultaneously eliminates researcher bias and many participant relevant confounding variables. 11. (Only if your experiment involves medication) Give your control group a placebo so that you can distinguish between physiological and psychological affects. 12. Thoroughly debrief your participants, especially if a degree of deception was involved.. 13. Explain the results of your study. That's my attempt at it.. (I used this as an excuse to test my memory as you might have guessed.) You should also memorize the waves of psychology and the principle psychologists associated with them.
I got AP Chem, AP Calc BC, AP US, and AP Lang these next two weeks. After taking a released exam in chemistry, our teacher told us how we could calculate our AP score. I got a really high 3 on it and with 5 more multiple choice questions, I could get a 4. I'm feeling good about tomorrow.
I generated a Mnemonic device for molecular geometries: Lumpy towns bubble tingly tinted bikinis then standard teacups lug ostentatious single souffles Uhh lol

If this is for the AP Chem test I am fucking set for it. We are doing this exact thing in my 'honors' chem class.. so easy.
I've got AP World History a week from Thursday, these essays are going to be a pain in the ass.
I do da maff AB and APUSH Oh god im just shooting for 3 on calc ;(
I do da maff AB and APUSH Oh god im just shooting for 3 on calc ;(
Yeah I calculated what I need to get a 3 for the calc test. 50 percent plus 1 question, and straight 2's on all the FRQ questions. not really aiming high on that one
HOLD ON. If this is for the AP Chem test I am fucking set for it. [editline]7th May 2012[/editline]
Yeah I calculated what I need to get a 3 for the calc test. 50 percent plus 1 question, and straight 2's on all the FRQ questions. not really aiming high on that one
All you have to do for the FRQs is look for a function in the question, find the derivative for part a, integrate it for part b, and use a formula to solve for area or volume or something else that you read in the equation. You're bound to get a point or two.
yeah im not too worried, anything conceptual is prett easy, i just forget stuff like trapezoidal sums or theorems.
Good luck to AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science!
