Facepunch can simply be viewed as a democratic government with checks and balances. Mods ban, Golds suggest/report, and Blues troll/contribute for posts. Give Golds the authority to ban, and Blues will soon get fed up with it and leave.
Of course not, if the way to get gold is through join date and post number. If somebody had to do something to get gold like before then possibly.

I'm against banning power for us. It would result in golds bannind golds in the Goldmember Forum or even worse: Golds banning others randomly.
That's really what Moderators are for (banning but not randomly).
But I'm for a little extension of our gold-rights: The ability to delete our posts and close our threads. We once had it and it was cool. Then garry removed it for unknown reason.

...You guys obviously don't understand what mods do then... They aren't here just to ban people. The mods have so much more duties than you think. The only power we 'Golds' would be taking is the ability to ban. Nothing more, nothing less. I also think that if we do get this power, it is going to be limited, i.e. no perma ban.

It probably would end badly... perhaps a higher post count or something could be arranged to get banning abilities...or when a certain post count/time been here is acquired our account could be sent to garry or hezzy and they'd have to approve it before a Gold could have baning abilities
