Old people have opinions they should be allowed to express. However, they should get less voting power, since they're not going to be part of the laws for so long.

I was actually surprised that prop 19 didn't pass. I was sure that all those cali stoners and weed supporters would go vote and represent the sticky icky. I'm disappointed that they didn't do their part. There's no way that prop 19 could have lost, if they had all turned up at the polls
There's no way that prop 19 could have lost, if they had all turned up at the polls
guess what? it lost anyways and that's the way it's gonna be. it's outrageous anyone would even think such a thing would pass. get your asses unstuck out of your pipedream. This is only proof that most of you have your heads to far above the clouds.
I'm pissed about it not passing too
Sucks for you guys. In Canada, no one gives a fuck if you smoke weed.
Well no one gives a fuck in Cali, but this would just have made it official.
It's actually passed once, but then republicunts bitched about how they thought people were tricked into voting by wording it weirdly
fucking GOP
fucking GOP
I don't really care, either way I can still get weed.
It will be voted on again in 2012, by the way.
2012?!?! Fuck man, we need to like spread the cold hard facts somehow. Maybe like throw flyers all over california or something
All still is hopeful. The biggest gain I think is that legalization of marijuana got tons of media coverage for a good while. The more time and attention, the more people will be properly educated on the issue. Personally, I could understand how someone might want to ban pot, the kind of people that want all recreational drugs banned. I still think they are over opinionated idiots for trying to force their ideals on others, but at least their point of view is continuous. The view that one drug for recreation is acceptable but another drug that is on a similar level danger wise is not is really just a big contradiction.
'tis a shame.
It will be voted on again in 2012, by the way.
great, so pot will be legal right before the world ends. fan-fucking-tastic
great, so pot will be legal right before the world ends. fan-fucking-tastic
Evil pot causing the end of the world.
Hey guys, cali grower here just figured I'd let you guys know why prop 19 didn't pass. It wasn't because all the stoners were too high, or the conservatives, or anything like that. The people who turned down prop 19 were pot consumers like me who would have gotten screwed over by MANY provisions that were in the bill. To put it simply, prop 19 was just not a good bill, and the smarter stoners (who read through it like myself) saw to it they voted no. Myself included. As someone mentioned before, another bill is coming in 2012; and its a lot better. Expect a much better result that time around.
I always hear people say "The smart people know that the prop was gonna screw everyone over" but I've never actually heard anyone explain HOW it would do so.
those are people who profit from weed being illegal, like dealers, politicians, ignorant bandwagon folk etc etc
If you actually read into the provisions of the bill you'd realize it effects a lot more people than that. For instance, medical patients could be charged with felonies for smoking in the same building as a minor. No such thing currently. Also, gifting pot to people would be a felony if given to an 18-20 year old. For giving it to a minor, its 3 years jail time. Those are just some of the really bad ones. It was more like half-assed legalization aimed to still get people arrested to keep prison guards, corrupt police, etc happy.

Also you mustn't have read the prop because it clearly states that it does not supersede prop 215 (the MMJ one). Also you get a massive fine and possible jail time for giving alcohol to a minor, why would weed be any different. If you were such a "smart" stoner, maybe you would have read the bill.
The thing about 'getting legalization rolling', Roly poly, is that if Prop 19 had passed, there was no revising it. Prop 19 == prop 19. No editing or revisions.
The thing about 'getting legalization rolling', Roly poly, is that if Prop 19 had passed, there was no revising it. Prop 19 == prop 19. No editing or revisions.
You're making it seem like prop 19 would the the marijuana rules for the world forever
You're making it seem like prop 19 would the the marijuana rules for the world forever
I'm assuming you meant 'ruin the' why would they say yes to shitty (not actually legalized) legalization, when they could wait for actual legalization in 2012?
