The kind that dosn't have cheesy lyrics, repedative melodies and requires talent to sing. What most modern artists do is utter crap when it comes to quality. It's also mind numbing due to it's repedativeness and general bland texture. If you can't play a fucking instrument (or atleast have a quire/duo/trio etc.), it's effortless music. Can't spell "Crap" without "Rap".
Stop generalizing an entire genre that you know nothing about
I like Eminem, sorry.
Oh god, I remember ages ago everyone on facepunch was hating rap and listening to metal, now it seems like a lot more people are open to everything. Respect to the open minded people. I think this song is pretty cool, goes back to his roots.
No go to the music section most of everyone there are still retarded and close minded
Actually, why am I sorry, I got views, but this song is a little, er, not-as-good-as-his-others. EDIT Break my automerge why don't you?
I like Eminem, sorry.
It's okay my son I forgive you
We used to have a music section for these kind of things... Oh wait, we still do. Go there.
I liked Eminems older stuff. I'm slim shady yes I'm the slim shady all you other slim shadies are just imitating!! So catchy!
wait, wait, who actually listens to this guy other than wannabe thug eleven year olds? hahahahaha
let's see... in 2001 or whenever he came out he was the first white rapper to become anything at all. he didn't just become something, but fed the black rappers their own bullshit since he actually wrote songs that was not the usual porn movie script broken into lines or summarizing the highly illegal act of killing. his lyrics had content and he was loved everywhere including by a good portion of this place that was alive back then (we didn't exist, but i think you get me?). the last i heard of him is some years ago with some "curtain call" album which again had content that actually said shit. the only thing i get from 50-cent is a clear view of what gunshots do to you. the rapping scene of today is epic fail and one big pathetic listen, this guy changed it so people with brains could endure listening to it. no, it's wannabe thugs like you that bash this guy for not just reciting porn manuscripts. i seem to remember Snoop Dogg deviating from the whole porn/kill path too, but i don't remember... i belong on the "80s new wave of heavy metal." discussion thread (which doesn't exist). GTFO... on-topic... what's all this about recovery? i haven't heard about anything to recover from?
No go to the music section most of everyone there are still retarded and close minded
many here are close minded in every section, don't kid yourself. there are still beacons of "hey, you're ok even though you're not me at all... isn't that weird? i usually don't like not-mes" though.
Awesome
I enjoy all good music. This can be anything from Classical, to Jazz, to J-Punk. In every single genre, the majority of the material is drek. Rap is no exception: there is talent in this genre, and I've found several artists that I enjoy listening to, and I'm in no way an expert on rap. Here's what folders I have on my MP3 player at the moment: -32Crash, a European techno thing with often dystopian scifi lyrics, and some creative tunes and beats. -Anamanaguchi, that chiptunes band that got popular pretty recently. -The B52s, a 70's party rock band, famous for, "Rock Lobster," among other tunes. -The Dead Kennedys, a political punk band that died pretty quickly, but was absolutely awesome. -Devo, an 80's nerd punk band that people here should know of. -Die Aertze, a German punk band that produces albums to this very day. Their lyrics are almost always in German, and are often humorous. -Eminem, the rapper people are dumping on in this thread. -King Crimson, an experimental band in the vein of Yes. -Mindless Self Indulgence, a lot of FPers hate this industrial techno band. I think they're funny in a very odd way, and generally okay to listen to. -Polysics, an insane Japanese techno pogo punk band that kicks ass. -The Spiralmouths, a singing group that does neat sound effects without using instruments of any sort. -The Pillows, a Japanese rock band that is pretty melodic and did the soundtrack for Fooly Cooly. -Rocky Horror Picture Show OST, which is hilarious. -The Tubeway Army, a British techno thing that was way ahead of its time, and sounded awesome. So it's not like I'm partial towards any genre or anything. "Rap means, Retards Attempting Poetry." Why would you even say that? So much good poetry nowadays has no form at all, so there's one argument against rap out the window. Not to mention, there's at least as much poetry that's full of shitty ennui and angst as there is of rap that's made by redneck clowns or gangsters. And rap shouldn't have to be compared to high standards of music either: it was part of the same movement that spawned punk rock, and the GOAL was for anyone to be able to make it. Eminem is pretty witty, highly lyrically talented, and very good at rhythm and pacing. If he just seems like some dumb wigger to you, then go to the opposite end of the spectrum, and listen yourself some Public Enemy. They're also very good, but also very Black and Proud of It.
So because I don't like Enimen that automatically means I listen to anime soundtracks and I'm ignorant? Sure thing there OP/Backfoggen.
That's because I'm into tons of different kinds of music, and it would take me about an hour to actually get down a list. But some examples: Jazz. Blues. Rock. Soul. Country. Pop. Instrumental stuff... There is tons more I listen to, but I can't bother to get it from the top of my head.
Can't spell "crock" without "rock". Wait, I like rock music. :saddowns:

I don't listen to rap that often, but I generally find that Eminem is the best rapper in today's music canon. I like this new song - it's a bit unusual, and I get the feeling he's trying to appeal to a wider audience with the style of music he's used here, but I don't think the song suffers at all for it. As to the argument that's going on, I think it's really petty to make baseless judgments against people just because of the genres of music they like. I far prefer rap to heavy metal, but I don't think people whose opinions differ to mine are somehow lesser for it. It's silly to presume that everyone who likes Eminem is a wigger, but it's equally silly to presume that everyone who doesn't is an anime fan.
I'm AFRAID that I don't care about this song.
I like some of his songs, only some though. So I'm going to have to give this one a listen.
If you just like one Genre then you are pretty single minded.
awful artist
I hated the Relapse album out of my fucking mind, but it seems he finally realized his mistakes as so he says in the following lines: "And to the fans, I’ll never let you down again, I’m back I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact Let’s be honest, that last Relapse CD was “ehhhh” Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground Relax, I ain’t going back to that now." So this new album might actually turn out good, not to mention his new "Despicable" freestyle was amazing.
Rappin' 'bout the hardships of suburbia...keepin' it real, bitches [editline]06:21PM[/editline] This thread is now about the REAL talented blacks artistes. Never Forget. Why do you all hate Eminem? He has some of the sickest rhymes I've ever heard.
Why are you such a dick? This is obviously a thread about a new eminem song, so why come in here if you don't like eminem? People are entitled to their opinions, stop being so judgemental.
Still dosn't change the fact that it's bland and effortless. Only because someone thinks it's good, dosn't mean it has quality, otherwise nobody would vote for republicans. There, case closed.
I hate rap, but Eminem is great, I really like his music. It's real weird, I can hate the shit out of people like 50 Cent, T.I., Lil Wayne, etc. but Eminem is good for some reason to me. [sp]oh no an opinion on the internet!11[/sp]

Glad he realized that that shitty accent in relapse was, well, shitty...
Don't download it. Support the artist.
I don't like downloading singles
-snip-
there's as much stupid rap songs/artists as there is rock/pop/country, and just like other genres you just gotta look long enough to find good songs/artists. On topic: i like the song...
Doesn't this belong in the Music section?
