Obviously you should pull the wooden device, then some sort of door opens!

Activate the device.

Please try the above and try rubbing the lamp, maybe it summons the old man so we get to know more about him.

Move the device with the rake so as not to be too close if something happens.

You better not touch those odd looking devices hanging from trees or you will soon be trapped and a gnome will come out to shank you. Trust me I know adventure games :v: Edit: Btw this would do a really awesome adventure game. Though the landing in an unknown land is a bit of a cliche.
