It's quite interesting to consider the question of why there persist the negative stigma toward sex and nudity in western society; a hypocritical conundrum when the mainstream media's hypersexualization of women is taken into account. It is important to understand how the emergence of these social barriers regarding sex and nudity have emerged in the first place and it isn't unreasonable to consider the religious pressure to ostracize any whom break this social contract {sexual repression in western society}. Of course it would be ignorant to wholly attribute this sexual repression to religious dogma, however it does serve to help understand these social barriers in our respective societies(s) are not easily broken and a realistic approach to sexual liberation of said societies(s) would be by way of continuously enlightened generations, with the consequent dying off of the older generations.
