German soldier =/= Nazi.
A member of the SS was a Nazi, most Army higher ups were Nazi party members. However I guarantee you most soldiers were not all that politically active.
Plus being a Nazi didn't automatically brand you a demon in human form, look at Rommel, one of the most respected generals of the war.
That's why Day of Defeat uses the 'Wehrmacht'.
:hitler:
If A Canadian were to join the American army, he'd be an American soldier.
If a German were to join the Wehrmacht, which was commanded by the Nazis, they become a soldier of the Nazis. If you Generalize, they become a Nazi.
They don't have to be members of the party, it's just a generalization.
That's like calling every soldier a democrat just because the Obama is a democrat
All German soldiers weren't a Nazi's.
That's like calling every soldier a democrat just because the Obama is a democrat
No, the country was technically called 'Nazi Germany'.
Hence Nazi Soldier.

My grandfather he said he had more respect for Rommel than he had for Montegomery.
And that's saying something.
It's Mr. Gestapo's fault.

No, Nazi Germany was a common label for germany at the period of time when it was controlled by the Nazi party. Germany was never 'technically called Nazi Germany'. We don't rename America to Republican America or Democrat America every time one of the parties attains power, the same with the label of the army.

Alright, Republican USA, Democrat USA.
And
" is the common name for the country of Germany while governed by Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) from 1933 to 1945."

However they didn't have elections after WWII started.
If other countries started calling you democrats, you'd be known as democrats.

Yes, that's its name.
I always wondered what learning history in Germany would be like.
It must be so awkward learning about ww2.

Actually if I recall correctly, they learn about Cold War.
I hate when people act like the Soviet Union was so great and all. They were just as bad as the Germans at the time and the only reason they aren't portrayed this way is because "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".
The Soviet Union were even worse than the Nazis.
I never thought the WW2 German soldiers were bad people.I only thought the actual Nazis were bad people.
It's because if you say that not all German soldiers were evil, then you are instantly labeled a Hitler sympathizer.
I haven't heard anyone come up to a random group of people and yell "Fuck every single one of those Nazi soldier bastards. They're all to blame and they did it willingly and out of the pure hatred in their hearts"

I love stories like this. Even though they were bitter enemies, some goodness still comes through.

I love reading this kind of stuff.
I remember my grandfather told me once about how he was sitting eating a meal while a German P.O.W. glared at him, my grandfather split the meal in half, found something for the P.O.W. and gave him the half.
You Grandfather was a Awesome
its pretty stupid that people thinks that only germans are nazis nazis are an party like labour and shizz but we had nazi partys in england and other countrys other then germany
You Grandfather was a Awesome
Oh wow I fucked up on my sentence "Was A Awesome"
not sure if this was already said but nazi =/= german soldier, The nazis were the animals who were beating jews and burning them alive in concentration camps. german soldiers were normal people, just like soldiers from any other nation. just clarifying that difference
Oh wow I fucked up on my sentence "Was A Awesome"
I wasn't gonna say anything because I thought you were illiterate. Or from a different country.
