Police Officer Shoots, Kills Firefighter While Being Beaten In The Face

God it's almost like there's a pre-determined list of things anal-pained "police watch" bystanders should yell while watching an arrest.
They even have the same tone/voice as most of them what the fuck.
Theres a newstory with this and apparently the firefighter was a newlywed. Fucking sucks.
His buddy could have stepped in to help restrained the man instead of holding a gun on him. (Just trying to be friendly about not always solving things with a gun.)

I lol'd. Im just trying to say, there could have been a better way than sitting there aiming a gun at the guy while they wrestled it out. But thank you for taking the wrong way to show how much you are a asshole.
Just look at it like this without loosing a few brain cells in your head. Most cenario's can be done a good way an poor way or just wrong, this one was just wrong, They could have tried to restrain him together instead of having one guy restrain and the other guy aim a gun down at him.
Where are you getting all these extra people from? It was a 1 on 1 confrontation. No one held the firefighter down and shot him. The cop drew his gun while being bashed in the face and put 2 in the firefighter. The fuck you even talkin about
escalating the situation and punching an officer in the face is not a good idea
but shooting and killing him was not an appropriate response.
both parties are at fault.
im curious as to what the reason for the arrest was, though.

was not aware he was extremely drunk, officers actions were justified.
Looks like you need to start thinking a few seconds before posting. Being the first poster is in no way important, and you end up looking like an idiot.
They could have tazed him or something, guy didn't really resist it seems in the video. Regardless of drunk, you don't just shoot a guy. The other officer could have stepped in an helped other than stay back an shoot. an no offense that seemed like he was just eager to shoot him, in all honesty. This is crap how it was handled.
The issue here is that this was one lonely cop getting beat up, while people are watching he could literally be beaten to death, and NOBODY would be stopping the suspect afterwards.

Did you watch the video? There's only 1 cop. Stop jumping to conclusions.

There was only one cop though??
Seems like the firefighter was disagreeing with the arrest and resisting non-violently up until the cop pissed him off pretty bad when he dropped his knee down on the back of his skull. That cop would've been fucked if he didn't have a gun, that dude turned that whole thing right the hell around. RIP.
Yeah the moment before the cop decides to pull out his gun, the firefighter is clawing at his face and then starts wailing on him. His life was certainly in danger so responding with deadly force is acceptable.

Tazers are almost universally cross drawn (Meaning the tazer is worn on the non dominate side of the officer. They must reach across their chest to the opposite side of their belt to retrieve the item.) If someone is on top of you, it becomes physically almost impossible to cross draw.
And on top of all of that, cops taze you to keep you from becoming a threat. Less than lethal options have a decent rate of effectiveness, but drugs and alcohol can drastically reduce the effectiveness of their impact and someone people are simply naturally resistant. Many departments restrict the use of tazers and do not permit their use if an officer is by themselves because it is a danger for the officer in the event the taze fails to stun the suspect. Once you become a threat, you are shot until the threat is neutralized.
This guy was striking the officer in the face while on top of him. Shooting him was undeniably justified.
Furthermore when you are in CONTACT with someone with an electrical current running through them, it runs through you too. You are not going to win a fight if you taze yourself.
Not really. The current is going between the two prods, otherwise they would be near useless.
The shooting was completely justified, though.
Hubbard was taken to a hospital as well. His injuries included a broken eye socket, a fractured cheekbone, a cut above his left eye that required two stitches and loss of feeling in the left side of his face.

hes saying if you're in contact with someone getting shocked you'll be getting shocked too
You wouldn't. The current is going between the two prods, not from one prod to "ground".

This is not correct. Path of least resistance.

I'll shock you guys, you can be touching someone who's getting shocks from an AED!!! :OOOOO
hes saying if you're in contact with someone getting shocked you'll be getting shocked too
No, he is right, I'd forgotten that tasers operate sans ground.
I don't know about you but if I'm sufficiently liquored up I can brush off a tazer like nothing.
Yeah whatever you say.
Jesus, that's awful for everyone involved
From the article provided in the video, apparently the suspect (Bruno) had already assaulted a taxi cab driver and walked away before the police officer (Hubbard, off-duty, working as security for a Marriott hotel in uniform) caught up to him and tried to arrest him.
Hubbard gave 'numerous verbal warnings' and attempted to handcuff Bruno but he resisted throughout and tried to run. The two eventually struggled to the ground, where Bruno got on top of Hubbard and began punching him in the head. Hubbard pulled out his pistol and shot Bruno twice in the center mass. His heart, diaphragm, and liver were hit.
Bruno was pronounced dead at the hospital. Hubbard suffered a broken eye socket, a fractured cheekbone, a cut above his left eye that required two stitches, and loss of feeling in the left side of his face.
IMO, a tragic loss of life that could have been easily avoided. Bruno shouldn't have resisted. Could have probably gotten out of it with lenient charges, given his status.

Pretty sure he missed a punch before the camera goes OH SHIT DONT FILM THAT
Yeah whatever you say.
My mates and I had a bet to see if we could brush off a taxer while drunk off our rockers. Most of us could, but when I was walking away I stubbed my toe on a table and started crying.

Where'd you get the X26 + 3 cartridges to just waste?

Yes it was.
Where'd you get the X26 + 3 cartridges to just waste?
Buddy of mine did it. I have no clue where he got them.

Pretty sure if you're a cop, and you're seconds from being punched to death, you'd pull out your gun and kill them.
The bystanders were probably also partially drunk. I wish they had gone over to help the cop with the guy. He would probably still be alive.
The bystanders were probably also partially drunk. I wish they had gone over to help the cop with the guy. He would probably still be alive.
Don't police usually discourage civilian intervention if there is an officer handling the situation?
He just killed him... horrible
As much as the shooting was justified as the cop was getting his face punched in, the decision to start wrestling a drunk bull of a man was idiotic and irresponsible and lead to his death.

So what, the cop just shouldn't arrest the guy if he is drunk and breaking the law?

Everything I think that was wrong with this post, watch the video, the entire video before you begin picking sides and rabidly defending the now dead firefighter.
If anyone is to blame for the shooting happening, I would put the blame on the onlookers who could've helped to restrain the drunkard before he overpowered the cop and had to be shot.
