It's not backwards. Men will cause problems. People like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao will pop up from time to time and cause chaos. Without war, without stopping people like that, then there will not be peace. If we had just let Hitler take over Europe, and not started and ended the bloodiest conflict in human history, then where would we be now? Fascist, in death and work camps, etc. War is needed to obtain peace.

If we rush through a war, we leave things out of balance, and that can start future wars, take ww1 for example, we may of not rushed in, but we sure as hell rushed out and made a war torn country pay fee's for destruction when they can't even fix their own country.
We need to prevent wars, by not being idiots, and if we go to war, we need to think straight, and after we win help rebuild.
Also big tanks, and big guns can be a disadvantage, You can hear a tank a coming, its loud, its big, and you can still destroy it with enough explosives.

The US army is very loud on the way we product things, we only win in some situations due to out numbering facts, and to out gunning.
