Does anyone remember (I doubt anyone will, it probably wasn't very popular) a game called NetMonster? You would have battles between captured 'netmonsters' by visiting websites with a little sign for the game. One of the first games I played on the computer. I made a freewebs site about Naruto when I was 11. Euuughhghh just remembering I even conceived such an eyesore and immature thing embarrasses me.

http://www.freewebs.com/manboyman/ Freewebs site I made a long time ago http://www.freewebs.com/mythland/ A freewebs site I liked a long time ago. Both are horrible. First one also includes fake ghosts, fire that follows your cursor, and a crappy self insert character (manboyman)
Wow... I used to be a Moderator on an Eclipse MMO a while back, it was about Kirby and usually had around 10 people on at max. Eventually I realized it sucked and quit playing it. Strangely enough, the creator of it recently posted a news post on the 13th of May, so apparently it's still active. Strange, since it was never really popular to begin with. http://www.freewebs.com/nettosaito/KirbysDreamWorld/Index.htm Edit: Forgot to mention that I moderated it around 3-5 years ago.

God damnit this is sad, just seeing the years is sad :saddowns:
I apologize if this was posted already but this site here- Video Game Director's Cut (enter at your own risk- it's overrun with adverts and junk) an early site of flash-based video game parodies. I don't remember how I stumbled upon that site but it gave me some nice laughs back in 2000 and eventually led me into Newgrounds. I wouldn't recommend trying to search through it unless you use internet archive machine- there's lots of adverts and junk filling it including one that you'll see right away offering to install a search bar. Last update was from 2008 by the domain manager claiming the site is still going healthy. Speaking of Newgrounds, there was a subcommunity I was a apart of that made their own forums. It was formed in response to the trolls and what not that screwed up reviews submissions, so being over-eager kids we were decided to try and use the flagging system to the best of our abilities. They aren't old, but were typical of the shoddy forum designs that plagued the internet when the software became fairly easy to acquire for people: Here are two forums that were made to that extent. http://web.archive.org/web/20040813193200/http://www.freewebs.com/wazup190/index.htm http://newgroundsarc.proboards.com/index.cgi? If you notice on the second one, you'll see a post in the first subforum by me trying to redirect users to the new site (which later moved to a different address). It's disturbing seeing old postings from myself... Another site I frequented when I was younger was "game sages", which was like an early version of sites like cheatplanet. The site eventually got absorbed into IGN. INternet archive's earliest entry for the site is when it was taken down and eventually the url redirecting to IGN. Try using it- www.gamesages.com goes to IGN's cheat portal. Funniest (and saddest) things are to see the fansites that were set up by over eager kids about their favorite shows. Here are some lulzy ones for pokemon I dug up: http://www.geocities.ws/kingguy999/mews-lair.html http://www.litchfieldil.com/members/gjak4/ Shame Geocities is gone- they were a goldmine for this junk.
forum.facepunchstudios.com Ye olde facepunch link.
http://losfuckingmongos.com/news.php my dad's band's site. :smug: not that old, but nothing's been posted there since jan 09

This is a really great nostalgia thread. All I can think of is Kid Radd, but the original site isn't there anymore unfortunately.

I believe that Facepunch is a big enough website, and more importantly community, that it cannot simply die. You just can't kill off something this big. Whether people would make another forum or move to SA, it wouldn't go away for a long time.
