I must say that the Single player for this game looks amazing.
I was dissapointed that there was no gameplay in space.
I hate it when stuff in space happens like that, where some gets blasted into deep space. It fucking scares me.
I was dissapointed that there was no gameplay in space.
Alright this game's story is pretty ridiculous but not that ridiculous.

I don't understand why Price fired the nuke AT USA and not Russia. I mean if he fired it at Russia that could have caused a retreat on the Russian invasion.
I don't understand why Price fired the nuke AT USA and not Russia. I mean if he fired it at Russia that could have caused a retreat on the Russian invasion.

Price agrees to help them track down Makarov, but knows they must go to extremes to end the war. He decides to go rogue, hijack a Russian nuclear submarine, and launch an ICBM towards Washington, D.C. However, he rigs the warhead to explode in the upper atmosphere, which destroys the International Space Station (viewed from an astronaut's point of view), but spares Washington. The resulting electromagnetic pulse cripples the vehicles and electronic equipment of both the U.S. and Russian forces in the city.
Yet I still don't know why he blew up the space station. [editline]03:09PM[/editline] Wrong place wrong time I suppose.
If the nuke was detonated above earth atmosphere the air would have absorbed most of the shock wave so it didn't kill anyone on the ground. However the dispersed particles in space mean it would have traveled much further (yes shockwaves can travel in space) and destroyed the station. That's the only explanation i can think of anyway.

It is conceivable that the nuke blasted air particles thousands of miles towards the space station, but it's highly unlikely.
Wait. Space is a vacuum. Shockwaves in the air are simply air particles moving rapidly. Space does not have air particles. Godammit infinity ward!
important soldiers can't ever die, not even by an rpg hitting their chest!
How did an SAS captain know how to pilot a Russian nuclear submarine and reconfigure it's ballistic data and code so that it's ICBM's would detonate precisely over D.C.? IW doesn't know what SAS is do they? SAS =/= Stargate SG1 They might as well change the theme to that of the movie Aliens now. They already have the radar guns.
What are these mystical space particles?
I think every once in awhile you come across a hydrogen atom.

Don't give them an excuse to make it even more unrealistic.

for all the people not knowing what the explosion is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_altitude_nuclear_explosion
yea, nukes can also be used as an EMP device. Supposedly if there was a nuke set off around Kansas City (near the middle of the US) it would disable almost all electronics in mainland USA that were unprotected.
Wait. Space is a vacuum. Shockwaves in the air are simply air particles moving rapidly. Space does not have air particles. Godammit infinity ward!
This made me extremely confused at first. And I also like how the space station gets fucked up yet the people on the ground are like lowlat and stand there.
I don't understand why Price fired the nuke AT USA and not Russia. I mean if he fired it at Russia that could have caused a retreat on the Russian invasion.
He fires the nuke at the US to make it look like Russia did it. Firing a nuke at a country is horrible, And other countries would begin to ally themselves with the US once they see that Russia is resorting to using nukes. It's like how makarov made it seem like the airport attack was done by americans rather then russians.
You can see them IRL too
Lol at North Korea

Most of the troops were in helicopters and the blast took a good chunk out of the invasion force.

Most of the troops were in helicopters and the blast took a good chunk out of the invasion force.
No because sheperd said in the cutscene before the mission that he was willing to do anything to win the war. Which means he was willing to basically nuke his own country in order to get everybody to turn against Russia. The russians were also invading from both the east and the west (You see this when they are asking the air control whether or not they are seeing anything) and if they wanted to take down the russians with the nukes they would have needed to nuke all along the coast. It was basically just playing off makarov making the airport attack seem like it was american, Except this was the other way around.
It is actually possible for the satellites to be destroyed. When the U.S (and the USSR) were testing nukes at high altitudes, satellites were being destroyed (one reason to test nukes at a high altitude to see if it was a feasible way to combat satellites). Although I'm not sure it would be as dramatic as MW2 shows it.
