What's the difference between Cyproterone acetate and Spironolactone?
Cypro (known usually as Androcur) isn't FDA approved in the US. It's a very effective anti-androgen but should be seen only as a second choice in the case that spironolactone is ineffective due to the high risk of liver complications. It also has more mood destabilizing impact and can cause issues with paranoia and depression - not the best suggestion for transgirls, sadly. Bottom line is that it is an effective alternative and many people take it, but the side effects are somewhat more severe.
can cause issues with paranoia and depression
Yummy, sounds delicious. Though it seems like I've managed pretty good so far. And I feel more comfortable with every day that goes by.
You likely will if it's prescribed correctly ♥ Cypro needs very very small doses to be effective and at those doses, the mood disorder side effects aren't nearly as pronounced. Problem is, many people are on way too high a dose of it. I'm glad you're feeling amazing, though! Warms my little heart.
I have a transgender friend. She is having trouble in the form of wanting to know if her health insurance will cover trips to see a specialist and hormones. I think thats what she told me. She says her mother is the only person who would be able to find out because she has the information about it. Her mother really treats her fairly badly, such as saying she will ring up and check it out, then not doing it, then telling her that she cant find out, completely contradicting herself from before. I know its fairly vague, but Im hoping anyone here has some advice.
anyone have information on how to get progesterone to finland and anyway when to even consider taking it i guess inhouse and some mail re-directing system would be smartest though i read that it has peanut oil or something and i actually dont know if im allergic to peanuts or not, been avoiding them since i was a kid but i cant really remember if i actually was allergic or i just didnt like it
There's a few choices for Progesterone. Micronized Progesterone, sold as Microgest, is natural but yes, is suspended in peanut-oil and that can be a problem for some. Provera is a synthetic and should be fine to take, just be aware it's not quite as effective and it also cause some mood issues. Both can be purchased from InHouse. You should take them one pill per day, with your night-time dose, 7 days out of 28. [editline]15th January 2013[/editline]
I have a transgender friend. If you know the name of the provider I'd be more than happy to do some leg-work, though.
I'm not afraid of starting HRT, I don't know how I'll get there with my fears of coming out to my parents and am unsure how I'll even get to that point.
I'm on the exact same boat. Until then Vodka will do the job of keeping me happy.
since ordering straight to finland from inhouse isnt possible how can i get stuff from there

And her mother either wont bother to ring up and find out, or it really isnt possible.
since ordering straight to finland from inhouse isnt possible how can i get stuff from there
I'll investigate, sweetie.
Could you find out the name of her provider for me?
I reckon I could, except she isnt on at the moment. Ill probably PM it to you later. Helping her out anyway is very appreciated.
No problem ♥ I have a cheat-sheet of good providers. And a good GP will also be able to code most things as being for other purposes. Endo visits as hormone imbalances, blood tests for potassium, therapy visits for depression, et cetera. A good GP makes all the difference when it comes to ins
I'm on the exact same boat. Until then Vodka will do the job of keeping me happy.
I don't even have that. 'Aint nothing really keeping me happy as it is. I just drag on because I have to.
I don't even have that. 'Aint nothing really keeping me happy as it is. I just drag on because I have to.
Invest in vodka, strawberry vodka with lemonade is amazing.
One part Irish Cream, two parts Butterscotch Schnapps. Irish Cream goes in first, then pour the Schnapps over a spoon to layer on top. Cocksucking Cowboy ♥
Invest in vodka, strawberry vodka with lemonade is amazing.
I'm under 18 for one which doesn't necessarily stop me but I'm pretty anti-narcotic, anti-alcohol, etc. So you won't find me doing any of that. Just need to put up with my situation while I can I guess.
21 for alcohol.
Well there you go. I'm already not thinking straight so why make it worse? :v
What's with the 21 thing, anyway? Blows my mind that you can own a gun and vote and gamble but you can't buy alcohol...? >.<
What's with the 21 thing, anyway? haha oh wow the last few pages. get a life is dumb. im having a wonderful day how bout you peoples. Cocksucking Cowboy ♥
what the heck
It's a drink ~ people were talking about wallowing in vodka and I made my suggestion instead. It's actually called a Cocksucking Cowboy o.o
It also has more mood destabilizing impact and can cause issues with paranoia and depression - not the best suggestion for transgirls, sadly.
I already have some issues with paranoia how worse can it get? :v:
A lot worse, actually. I've dealt with friends on Cypro that became entirely different people once they switched to Spiro. Anxiety went away, paranoia disappeared, general happiness levels far improved. If you think it's bad now, it can always get worse o.o
I was being sarcastic anyway, you probably couldn't even buy it here
It's a drink ~ people were talking about wallowing in vodka and I made my suggestion instead. It's actually called a Cocksucking Cowboy o.o
I've had canned cocksucking cowboy once idk if it's the same thing but honestly 8/10 would cocksuck cowboys again
So I've been thinking, my girl has to wait for her recipe to arrive, so she can't go buy T-Blockers now what would happen if she has both estrogen and testosterone in her system? Is that some kind of deadly mixture? I'm actually serious, sorry if I appear as ignorant :(
If you take estrogen without a sufficient androgen blocker, you'll typically wind up doing very little and can actually make things worse. With her body still producing large amounts of testosterone, her body will see the increase in estrogen as an imbalance and will produce additional testosterone to compensate.
Okay thanks for the info! I hope that the recipe comes today.
How likely is it that hormones/blockers would be taken by customs, anyway? I mean ~60€ is certainly affordable but I wouldn't want to see it wasted on customs.
