eh, cola and everything similar i guess puddy said to avoid dark soda for potassium right? why so, its just like any other soda but it has just been colored
I think if the soda is naturally a dark cola. Not if it's been artificially altered with dye or food coloring.
You do realize you're talking to Sobotnik right? Besides I'd never recommend homeopathic treatment for serious conditions but its not like tinnitus is some deadly disease or anything. It's not like giving it a try to help with tinnitus is going to kill you. You could also try other methods like just playing some low-sounding white noise from a music player while you sleep which should cause your ears to stop ringing.
I can't read, study or listen to music, let alone sleep properly. Tinnitus destroys my ability to concentrate on anything or relax. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] I'd call that pretty shitty
I think if the soda is naturally a dark cola. Not if it's been artificially altered with dye or food coloring.
how can i tell the difference?
if its dark and after you read the incredients and there is no mention of colouring anyway im curious on if it really has any reason to try and avoid it..
eh, cola and everything similar i guess puddy said to avoid dark soda for potassium right? why so, its just like any other soda but it has just been colored
Wikipedia says both Coca Cola and Dr Pepper don't have any potassium in.
Samuel Hanhemann is an idiot. Homeopathy is NOT dissolving minute substances in water. If you disagree with what that lunatic believed in, we meet eye to eye, but if you do not think that actual homeopathic and naturopathic medicines cannot cure/alleviate gastrointestinal problems and gout outside of placebo effect, you are a massive idiot. In other words, actual homeopathy is iurvedic (I don't know how to spell it in english) medecine.

You know better than that.
Are you seriously going by wikipedia? You know better than that.

Scientific research has found homeopathic remedies ineffective and their postulated mechanisms of action implausible.[2][3][4][5] The scientific community regards homeopathy as a sham;[6] the American Medical Association considers homeopathy to be quackery,[7][8] and homeopathic remedies have been criticized as unethical.[9]
Read. If you have a (reliable) research paper showing me the efficacy of homeopathic treatment that shows an effect better than placebos, please do post it.
I really hope he does know better than that. I trust the GI field of modern medicine as much as I could throw an elephant, ever since multiple clinics and doctors diagnosed my severe food poisoning as IBS I dont have any such research paper on hand, nor do I have the patience to look for one now. But I do have a family who is still alive and kicking (and thriving) who only had access to iurvedic medicine until very recently.

Are you guys seriously arguing whether a 99.9% diluted solution is better than a solution that doesn't even have the ingredients the diluted one has? Seriously?
I really hope he does know better than that. I trust the GI field of modern medicine as much as I could throw an elephant, ever since multiple clinics and doctors diagnosed my severe food poisoning as IBS
Medical establishments and institutions =/= Medical science. Even accounting for cockups, doctors save more lives than homeopaths and "natural" herbalists.
Medical establishments and institutions =/= Medical science. Even accounting for cockups, doctors save more lives than homeopaths and "natural" herbalists.
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFHAHAHAHA Oh god I lol'd
Let me just end the argument of saying that homeopathy as you guys know it is not what actually works.
why dont you both fucking stop. kate homeopathy is untested unverified medicine so people are going to be skeptical and have thier own opinions. accept that. sobotnik stop looking for goddamn reasons to argue. christ.
No I'm not going to accept it when people spread misinformation, especially in a thread where the posters frequently have to take medicine that having the correct information on is CRITICAL. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline]
Let me just end the argument of saying that homeopathy as you guys know it is not what actually works.
It doesn't work at all. Find me something that proves it does.
ladies, lets not.
I shouldn't have come in without knowing the entire context, but what I thought you meant was scientific research facilities aren't studying medical science and shouldn't be regarded as such.
kate homeopathy is untested unverified medicine so people are going to be skeptical and have thier own opinions. accept that.
That's fine but wikipedia isn't what you use in a debate.

Homeopathic medicine can sometimes work, but I prefer the real thing to something that may/may not help - it reminds me of why I don't like decaff coffee however I think homeopathic medicines can be vital if you are trying to cut down on drugs, if ever got addicted to caffeine I could try decaff coffee to ween myself off.

It's water. I myself have drank homeopathic bleach before and suffered no ill effects.
If all else failed I'd probably be happy to be drenched in holy water or something of that ilk than sat there dying of whatever it is.
Right, I can tell there's a massive argument going on here and I generally never post in this thread, but can I just step to the side and ask something real quick? Namely... I have no idea whatsoever how to come out. At all. I know for a fact that my family, especially emphasizing my dad, would not accept it in the slightest. I specifically remember watching some movie, I don't remember which one though, with my dad and it had some homo people in it, and he made a comment about how he finds homosexuality and transsexuality and such very disgusting. I just know how ashamed he'll be when (if?) he finds out I want to switch sex, and I'm not sure at all how he would react or if he'd accept it at all. I don't really know what to do to be honest. How do I come out to him? Mind you, I'm underage, but I want to get started with this stuff as soon as possible, because I've read about it over and over at places and most people agree that the sooner, the better, and if you wait too long it could heavily worsen the results. If that wasn't the case I would just wait til' I had moved out and then do it, which would probably make it a lot easier to come out, but as it is I just don't know what to do. But, tl:dr, how do I come out to my dad that I want to switch sex?
Don't you mean you want to switch sex not gender because if you're transgender you're the correct gender just in a body of the wrong sex. Edit before somebody screams "THATS NOT RIGHT DEFINITION!!": Obviously you may be genderfluid, or whatever, etc, etc.

Probably a good idea to find someone in your family you trust most and tell them first, leave your father as the final challenge if that's how they think - eventually he'll have to accept you for what you are. If you've got like half your family supporting you then you can approach him about it. Helps to have some internet help to point them to just in case they think you are cursed, lying or joking.

I don't have whole lot of friends around here either, so that's out of the question too. The only one I really have to convince is my dad, and I can't get any real help with that from anyone as far as I know.

I just don't know how to approach it because I'm just so distant from everyone else in my family.
Considering your name I'm going to assume you're Swedish. Hit up RFSU and try to talk to someone there. I have no idea whether they do that kind of stuff but it's feasible that they could have someone go with you if you're afraid of his reaction and if they understand that you're kind of on your own.
