What are your expectations of HRT to do to you?
I honestly don't even know. .I don't know what to expect of it.. half of people on HRT come out amazing.. the other half just come out... horrible... I expect it to actually make me passable as a girl, not a guy with moobs smacked on and make'up thrown on. I know that might sound offensive to some, but I just really don't want to turn out like that, I don't want to turn into a super model, because I know that's not happening, I just wish to pass as a girl, a normal looking girl. not the fuck ugly person I am right now.
Tuesday can't come fast enough
Not everyone is going to look like Angelina Jolie through any kind of puberty. HRT will feminize your body, that's pretty much guaranteed for anyone below 25.
I hope I get to the HRT stage before that then. I know that I'll talk to a doctor at the 17th about getting a referral to a specific transgender-specialized therapist. Also unrelated: Today is my 20th birthday. Woo!
;38368204']Hi, I've had a shit day but I just want to tell you all you're great people. Never change
almost everyone who posts in this thread does so with the intention of changing ;)
I just bought long striped socks :3 But i'm Bi :/
I have a masculine voice which doesn't go well with breasts, not to mention customers would give me funny looks all day. I don't exactly want my colleagues to know I am trans either because then they would treat me differently. Also binding is fucking hawt too so.
Then I repeat my question, what would be the point in you going through HRT?
almost everyone who posts in this thread does so with the intention of changing ;)
Heh, I mean mentally if you know what I mean. You're just all nice and such [editline]8th November 2012[/editline]
I just bought long striped socks :3 But i'm Bi :/
What's being bi have to do with it? :v:
You trans guys seem to like them :3 thought it kinda made me one, i just like kinky stuff :3
Lol why would liking and wearing socks make you Transgender?
Lol why would liking and wearing socks make you Transgender?
I think he's confusing Transgenderism with crossdressing....
I think he's confusing Transgenderism with crossdressing....
Crossdressers ARE transgender, though. They're not transsexual.
Crossdressers ARE transgender, though. They're not transsexual.
Not necessarily. Transgenderism is gender identity; not the clothes you wear. A man who wears women's clothing could still be a cis-male.
Not necessarily. Transgenderism is gender identity; not the clothes you wear. A man who wears women's clothing could still be a cis-male.

Transgender is a general term applied to a variety of individuals, behaviors, and groups involving tendencies to vary from culturally conventional gender roles.
Transgender is a very, very broad, general term. Anyone that doesn't fit into their gender role is transgender, whether or not it's more extreme like transsexualism, or whether they just crossdress, or are a feminine man, or masculine woman. [editline]8th November 2012[/editline] Hell, there's even the transgender umbrella in the OP that puts crossdressers under the transgender umbrella.
Transgender is a very, very broad, general term. Anyone that doesn't fit into their gender role is transgender, whether or not it's more extreme like transsexualism, or whether they just crossdress, or are a feminine man, or masculine woman.
But crossdressing isn't a gender role. Crossdressing is a socially created term. Clothing does not depict someone's gender identity. It's just clothes.
Crossdressing DOES fall under transgender. You are going past the social norms of your gender, thus you are transgender.
I wasn't aware social norms of a gender defined the gender. "Normal"
Then I repeat my question, what would be the point in you going through HRT?
Potential decreased hairgrowth, breasts to improve my own image and happiness when not at work and future enjoyment, more feminine physique, emotional fulfilment and stability. The only things stopping me going on to HRT are my last therapist and my want for children.
Crossdressing DOES fall under transgender. You are going past the social norms of your gender, thus you are transgender.
It's just clothes though.
It's just clothes though.
its, by society's standards, clothes of the opposite gender trans is a latin prefix meaning on the opposite side of, gender is a social norm given to you at birth therefore if you are born male and wearing the clothing of a female because you enjoy crossdressing then you are doing something opposite of the gender you are, thus "transgender". It's transexual that is strictly mtf/ftm. though personally i just use transgender for everything.
Okay okay, i'm sorry for stirring up a debate, let's just drop the topic? People that think crossdressing falls under the term transgender, that's fine, people that think it doesn't, that's fine too. Let's talk about something else :3.
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in my shoulder/upper arm.
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in my shoulder/upper arm.
Meh tattoos. Just don't get your whole arm covered in them. Pretty trashy/nastily looking with an insane amount like that Imo. What would it be though?
HRT will feminize your body, that's pretty much guaranteed for anyone below 25.
What does it do for people who are 25 or around there? (I ask because I'm 24 and I haven't even looked at going to a therapist yet because I don't even know if the crappy medical insurance I have covers it.)
Meh tattoos. Just don't get your whole arm covered in them. Pretty trashy/nastily looking with an insane amount like that Imo. What would it be though?
I think sleeve tattoos look awesome, personally.

(I ask because I'm 24 and I haven't even looked at going to a therapist yet because I don't even know if the crappy medical insurance I have covers it.)
I think it will have a good effect so long as you are not over 30 and defo not over 40.
Meh tattoos. Just don't get your whole arm covered in them. Pretty trashy/nastily looking with an insane amount like that Imo. What would it be though?
An hourglass. Something small and simple, but something that would mean a lot to me.
I think it will have a good effect so long as you are not over 30 and defo not over 40.
I sure hope so. I would have loved to have looked into this a lot earlier but I had never even heard of hrt until after joining FP and up until then I had always been made to understand that men who wanted to be women were just perverts who had something wrong with them. FP is actually what made me realize it was okay. (I think I just started rambling, I shouldn't post when I have a headache...)
