Crossdressing/Transgender Megathread v. Socks are both a running gag and mandatory

I've begun with 50 and 2 mg, and will do that for a week or two in order to see how my body reacts.
From what I understand, it is better to begin with a low dosage and adjust as the time goes on, since not only can the meds be fatal, it can actually make the outcome worse if you begin on a high level.
I'm on 200 Mgs of Spiro and 4 MGs of Estridol, though I'm like close to 7 months in, they started me at 100 MGs of Spiro and 2 MGs of Estridol.

Yup, low as possible really.

Also I did a test of my voice acting :D In case any of you would like to hear it.
(Take a guess where I got the line from ;D)
200 mg of Spiro may be a bit much. Most people take 100, and it works just fine.
idk i feel like trying if something changes. i dont think its too much anyway, heard about people taking 300 for longer periods

Thats awesome.
Hitman: Blood money
Well.
The DSM has gotten its rework yet again. But two people who are vehemently against Trans people have removed "Gender Identity Disorder" and replaced it with "Gender Dysphoria" which sounds great. Would mean we aren't disordered anymore. Except they also changed "Transvestic Fetishism" to "Transvistic Disorder" and it entails that if you're ever sexually aroused while in the opposite clothing of your birth sex then you no longer need medical attention for "Gender Dysphoria" but only therapy as your being Trans is simply a fetish.
And it'll be this way for 10-20 years. When they rework the DSM V to the DSM VI.
yay.

Most people don't even use the DSM-V.
Uh? The DSM is one of the most respected medical textbooks for therapists and psychologists? It's got the nickname "the psychologist bible" for a reason.
Well Jawyen I currently take two tablets of 100mg Spironolactone twice per day, or 400mg. That's my Anti-androgen. Next I take two 2mg tablets of Estridol once a day and that's the Estrogens. I was told that if I had the money I could likely get put on Dutasteride and Progesterone as well to help the progression since I've hit the effective limit of the Spironolactone in terms of it's anti-androgenic capabilities. I used to take four tablets of the 100 twice a day, but my doctor noted that my Potassium was going too high and made me lower the limit, but at the same time my testosterone shot up again and it miffed me something fierce. I think last I was about 300 ng/dl still within the normal male range (The normal female range is something like 19-70).

God damn adorable .o.
EDIT: I'm curious now, how long have you been on the therapy?
Hello transgenders! (I'm not one of you.)
I hear a lot of you like to stay skinny, and I thought this would help.
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1230599
I'm sure a healthy diet and plenty of exercise would be far more beneficial.
I meant help inspire.
Like if wanting to look good alone doesn't drive you to stay healthy, then having that nasty shit in your arteries otherwise would help.
Elevate your avatar disgusts me. Put that thing away.

It would, however, still be up to the therapists themselves to make their own decisions though.
[editline]5th December 2012[/editline]
unless I'm wrong, in which case I misunderstood.
It would be but when your (more or less) manual says that then you're kind of hard pressed to argue with it.

We really would rather not be called "Transgenders".

I don't know what to call you guys. It's what the thread title refers to you guys as.
You guys are so picky on what you want to be called, and to be honest, it makes me a bit sad.
I came here with kind intentions, you know that right, so it makes me feel a bit bad that I am told that what I did was wrong.

Call us what you would call any other person?
Wow av been away from FP for so long, and then I accidently come back when I find a link for a thread on google, and guess which thread greats me on thefirst page.... my favorite thread, of course!
Glad to see Erika still posting nice pics.
Call us what you would call any other person?
For most golds that would be "hi faggs!!"
So don't you mean what the average civilised person would call us?

A lot of us get tired of being called transgenders like we're some alien race or some weird third gender.
We all get you have good intentions and we all appreciate it. It's just something we face in daily life, alond with a bunch of other shit, that makes us feel excluded from being a person like everyone else. It's not just pickiness.
I appreciate you posting the vid though. Was Interesting :)
i dont care what you call me, just dont mean it in a rude way.
[editline]5th December 2012[/editline]
and if you do thats your problem :v:

Should probably include this http://juliaserano.blogspot.dk/2012/12/trans-people-still-disordered-according.html
Most people don't even use the DSM-V.
As a note, the DSM-V hasn't been published yet, I don't know how many will go grab it on the first day and follow it to the letter, but even 1 is bad.
I'm not gonna call for everybody to just go home and give up all hope, but I think people should know about this and read up a bit on it.

That kind of applies to everyone ever.
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't know Erika, so I'm going to assume that she's a classy lady.
That kind of applies to everyone ever.
i wouldn't be offended if someone called me a tranny and a bunch of people here would
edit
i kinda wrote the last sentence wrong and changed it completely accidentally

But many believe the DSM-V to be awful for some reason. Even my therapist is going to stick with the DSM-IV.
im having a hard time telling if this thread is sarcastic or not
what the actual fuck

That's your therapist. Not all of them. Like Tinter said, even 1 is too much.
Besides at first every rework of the DSM is ignored for a few years because it's new. Later it's praised and shit.
