Not entirely sure if this works but slipping a paper clip over the two bottom pins on UK plug and then pushing it into a socket blows fuses as well. Not entirely sure about that but I think so.

1.Locate the power meter before mission.

Like someone else suggested, just smash the meter in with a hammer. Might not cut the power, but it will need replacing anyway.
