No offence dudes but comics ain't exactly the way to get pussy, unless you like catwoman LOL
No offence dudes but comics ain't exactly the way to get pussy, unless you like catwoman LOL
what is this post
Anyone else read the Dark Tower comics? I really like them, but maybe that's because I liked the books so much. If anyone here has read the comics without reading the books I'd like to hear your opinion on them. Only complaint I have with them is the art is a bit awkward near the beginning of the second arc, after Jae Lee's departure, but it eventually finds its footing. I've been rereading them after the announcement that they're going to adapt The Drawing of the Three.

So I'm gonna make a "what NOT to read" list. I need some ideas. Either comics that are still going, printed within the last 5 years, or just so completely shit it has to be on there.
Dark Knight Strikes Again All-Star Batman and Robin Non-Spider-Man Ultimates Most of the stuff Mark Millar wrote for Marvel
Could I get maybe like a sentence or two of why it's so shit?
Could I get maybe like a sentence or two of why it's so shit?
ASBAR/DKSA - These were after Frank Miller went insane, were badly written, nonsensical, and Miller's Batman is a violent psychopath who seems to think being Batman is an excuse to be an twat to everyone and not be called out on it. Then there's Miller's depiction of Wonder Woman and Robin. See Linkara's reviews for a more in depth discussion. Ultimates - Hey Kids, want to see a fresh new take on all your favourite characters? Well here's a universe where all the heroes are monumental assholes; Starring Iron Man as a Drunken Asshole, Captain America as a Racist Asshole, Hank Pym as a Misogynistic Asshole, Bruce Banner as a Cannibalistic Asshole, and the Maximoff Twins as Incestuous Assholes, and Thor as an Insane Asshole. Watch in amazement as it takes Galactus' look in Rise of the Silver Surfer and makes it look good. See Doctor Doom as a goat (until Richards kills him and takes his place). Take refuge in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics as they're actually good*. Then Ultimatum happens and it becomes so shit everyone cheers when it seems 616-Galactus is going to destroy it in the grand finale**. The Millar Marvel works I'm familiar with are mostly Elseworlds that quickly descend into mindless incest, cannibalism and misogyny. The only 616 stuff of Millar that I can recall was a run on the Fantastic 4 that wasn't good, and Civil War, and the less said about Civil War the Better. *Ultimate Spider-Man took some of the worst 90's Spider-Man stories and make them good ** Except he doesn't, and the comics kept being published

And any comic with Liefeld involved is usually bad either because he drew it, he wrote it, or both.
Is Original Sin any good?
Is Original Sin any good?
I'm liking it but I haven't read the latest issue (#3) which seem to have a bunch of reveals. [editline]6th June 2014[/editline]

I never got that. Is it because he got mutated? That never made sense to me.

I just started reading some of the New 52, it's pretty good, Superman The Flash Deathstroke Aquaman Action Comics Batman all of them are fucking great
Speaking of the New 52, how does the Constantine series compare to Hellblazer?
Is Original Sin any good?
Read it, there are a bunch of unexpected characters, some weird team-ups and it has white Fury. It isn't bad at all, but what has happened in the last number is total bullshit, I want to know how this ends.
Finished reading Xmen #1-66. Issue #66 being notable because it's when the title was canceled. It was amusing and some issues were quiet good, but it was a mentally exhausting endeavor, reading all those silver age Xmen stories. The stories were so corny, inconsistent, and repetitive. I think the main thing about those early stories was that they established major and even some minor characters that would have much more success later on. Someone else made this observation and said it better than me, but I will paraphrase "It is funny to think that the Xmen, which would become one of the best selling comics, was canceled while you had B-list comics like Daredevil surviving."
I went to the comic shop today to sell a bunch of old Waypool trade books that I don't read anymore. They're not bad it's just that the humor doesn't do it for me these days. I got 50 bucks for the whole lot. Woo
What do you guys think about Wolverine?
What do you guys think about Wolverine?
He's fun when he's surrounded by fun characters. In itself, at least for me, he tends to be quite boring. Case in point, the recent Nightcrawler issue had a great conversation between Kurt and Logan and it was quite fun. Speaking of, two series I recommend are Nightcrawler (which has Nightcrawler facing a mysterious enemy- don't know how else to describe it) and She-Hulk (which has She-Hulk solving crimes the lawyer way, and it kicks ass). Both are still young, so you only have to read three to four issues to be caught up. I also recommend Loki Agent of Asgard. Unless you have some problem with Comics Loki looking young and more like his movies counterpart, then you'll enjoy it. Like the title says, it has Loki doing jobs for Asgard, like stealing precious objects or kicking the evil out of Thor.
here's cliff chiang's alternate cover for teen titans #1 which is much better than rocafort's cover. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DlrAMDP.jpg[/t] in comparison to the main cover for teen titans #1 [t]http://i.imgur.com/mh5997x.jpg[/t]
What stupid things are they doing to the Titans this time? I mean, they already lost the thousands upon thousands of people that watched the TV show when they made Starfire into a sex maniac, so it's pretty much No Man's Land, right?
Starfire has never been in New52 Teen Titans.

Hey. Picture this. Aku, from Samurai Jack, joins forces with Mojo Jojo, from Powerpuff Girls, Mandark, from Dexter's Laboratory, and Vilgax, from Ben 10, to defeat their respective heroes, who end up joining forces with Ed, Edd n' Eddy. Sounds like a bizarre childhood dream. Except it's an actual comic which you can buy with money. And it's glorious. Called 'Super Secret Crisis War' and the first issue is out now. Thorgal is one of my favourite comics. "The comic unites many themes and legends into one consistent world, ranging from Norse mythology and Atlantean fantasy to science fiction, and including such genres as dark drama, horror and adventure stories." It is hard to come by in english, but if you do then give it a chance. Very beautiful comic, and just looking at the covers makes me want to read them again. Reading the Thanos Imperative again. I love when Star-Lord zaps the shit out of Thanos with the cosmic cube, he just has this face like "meh, that was sorta neat". [t]http://i.imgur.com/9OPDWGE.jpg[/t] Middle panel.
