I have pictures of my friends in my room. That way if I'm feeling unhappy, I can just look at the pictures and remember happy times :keke:
Try getting some art prints. Go to a local art gallery and buy postcards of all the paintings you like; that way you can buy loads of pictures for very little money, and it really brightens the place up!
Also you could try harmonising the room. You can make your own curtains with some cheap cotton, do some sewing or use fabric glue et voíla! You can do the same to a cheap sofa off of eBay, and it really personalises the room.

Get rid of the stuffed animals, action figures, posters, etc. Put band posters up. Paint your room something other than white, and don't do blue. A semi-dark grey, or a deep red, something cool looking (getting two parallel walls one color and the other two a different color is fucking awesome looking by the way) Get new furniture (Black would go well with both colors), etc.

I haven't asked for a single thing in years, and all the money I personally get, I work for. The only thing I did get help buying is my car, which was a reward for being an honor student all my life. Typical wealthy kids like to fuck up on their families hard earned money, I don't.
