I remember we made our own board after season one ended, but I didn't like it that much. Do we still use it?

average person likes ponies "everybody gang up on him and be an asshole to prove how much you don't like ponies but are completely secure with your preferences in manly things as a guy"
mod likes ponies "don't say anything oh god I don't want to be banned" (with some exceptions)

they merged with "Canterlot", a much larger forum of the same variety. Still drama, more spread out though.

P-sure two forums merged together and made some site.
Site's okay, but everyone just posts in here.

Oh, fun fact: I posted a thread about Pony Swag in Canterlot. A lot of non-facepunchers found it and loved it.

You're good at that.
The amount of hate people have for ponies here is actually amusing. It causes more butthurt than I've ive ever seen on here. More than arguments about politics, gay rights, or even the existent of god.
Some people need to calm down about things, and not take everything so seriously.
listening to this song with my Sennheiser HD 202 headphones is orgasmic

TH89 should make a rap about hiding naked in the bushes at a playground.
I can't exactly blame them. It's hard to overcome 10 - 20 years of conditioning against absolutely anything pink and girly, besides which most people say that they don't like the obnoxious fans, which is true of any fandom, but the MLP ones are usually considered extra obnoxious which, in my opinion, is exacerbated by the aforementioned disdain for anything pink and girly.
As for people who say that they find it terribly weird for guys to like it, I just find it a bit of a sexist double standard really. What would people say if, say, a 23 year old woman liked the old G1 Transformers cartoons or GI Joe? Well that'd be awesome, right! But what if a 23 year old guy likes a new series of My Little Pony? Why, that's absurd! How dare he!
See what I mean?
Anyway, ontopic: I showed this song to a friend the other day. He didn't realise it was about ponies until the "PONIES PONIES PONIES, SWAG, PONIES PONIES PONIES, SWAG" bit, which was quite funny.
When I first started hearing about MLP, I assumed it was just something like Adventure Time or other cartoons that also appeal to older people, but after seeing the behavior of some of the fans and the disproportionate amount of people who like it a little too much, I'm convinced there's just something about it attracts obsessive weirdos like a magnet. Or even worse, maybe it turns previously healthy human beings into the sorts of people who upload crayon drawings of their recolored Sonic characters. They're like furries, but even louder and even creepier, and they have some pony equivalent of a fursona, a persony, if you will.
I listened to this for the first time a few months ago, and had no idea that you were Swagberg until now. Nice going, TH.

I think the reason it attracts some weirdos is the way the ponies look. They've got features that a lot of guys find attractive, adorable, big eyes, innocent looking, ect, but on a cartoon pony.
People that feel isolated from real girls would be drawn and acttacted to them, because they are like replacements for actual human girls, and they think they can "relate" to them. I'm not saying that they are all be losers, maybe they just like fapping to ponies just because its sometihing that gets them off, but that seems like a big reason.
But that's just part of the fanbase. Not everyone is like that. I know I'm not, and I don't think most people that watch MLP are like that either.
I watch the show, and I like it. But like with everything, there's a portion of the fans that take it way too far. Unfortunately, those are the people that get stereotyped into "all bronies are like that hurr". And it kinda ruins it for others.
related: Stuff like that needs to stay on the internet. Sure, it's a good show, I like it. But when I see the Celestia "OBEY" poster stuck on a traffic light control box in the center of town where it's clearly visible, and the occasional guy in high school that wears brony shirts, I think that's taking it too far. Yes, we get it. You like a show. I do too. But when it's something pretty ridiculous like MLP, shouldn't you keep it where it belongs? I know I'd never dare to reveal that I like something like that to people I know IRL- mostly because asking people in this town to be open-minded is like asking an American politician to tell the truth 100% of the time. It just won't happen.

If you're worried about being being stereotyped as a brony, you need to stop calling yourself one. I think Spongebob is funny, but you don't see me calling myself a "Spongebro." Why do you think furries get so much shit? It's not because they like anthropomorphic stuff, it's because they have to make an identity out of it.

I don't call myself a brony. I just watch it. I know people who DO call themselves that though, and watch it on the same level I do. It's more the stereotyped hate that bothers me, but not against me personally.
-snip, r8 late-
I entirely agree. It does attract a lot of obsessive weirdos. The nature of the show also attracted lot of furries, unfortunately, which is why there's so much R34. Not everyone who watches it is an obessive weirdo though, if you see what I mean.
No, it didn't just attract the furries it... changed them. Made them different. SMade them stronger. Twice as creepy, twice as loud, and twice as annoying. Gentlemen, what we're looking at here is the next evolution of furry. An unstoppable, obnoxious beast who's thirst for flaming and derision can not be sated. May God help us all.
It's like any fandom - it's just that it happens to be the most recent large-ish one and because of that and the nature of the show it attracts more hate than the others.
Just look at sonic the hedgehog. That fandom has plenty of people who just draw the characters pretty well, or like the games, or like the old cartoons about it and that's fine - but there's the weird ones who make their own shitty recolours and obsess over it and everything to do with it. The kind of people like Chris Chan who tend to overshadow the normal people who just happen to like sonic etc.
This is pretty much the same with MLP. There are people who watch the show and enjoy it, and they may or may not consider themselves "bronies", and then there are the over obsessive people who feel the need to include MLP in everything they do ever. The people who spout memes from the show at every possible chance, or write erotic fiction about the characters. And unfortunately those people overshadow the guys who just watch the show and don't tend to bother anybody.
That said, nobody would complain if people were spouting TF2 memes all the time or having pictures of any of the classes from tf2 in their avatars. It's just double standards upheld by the people who take it upon themselves to decide that everyone is only allowed to like what that one person does.
Tl;DR obsessive spergs ruin it for everyone, haters gon hate.
Why do i keep having to say this
Talk about the rap or don't post. This isn't an MLP discussion thread.
-snip-
Why do i keep having to say this
Because this is the only relevant thread that's not locked up? Just saying.
Ponies are pretty simple once you get it. I think of it like this, you may not...
Three groups: the haters, neutrals and the creepies
Haters just flame the living hell out of everything even slightly related to ponies.
Neutrals just might/might not watch the show because it's a decent show. I'm in this group.
Creepies are those obsessed fans that write clopfics and draw pony porn and usually attract the most attention, sadly. It's this group that's the most trouble because...
A. Creepies give more ammunition for the haters
B. They embarrass the entire community around the show
C. They also make neutrals look bad.
And I think Swagberg's song kind of displays both neutrals and creepies, also giving a huge "fuck you" to haters since from what I've gathered, he's quite a liked rapper. If he has a decent attitude towards this, it's balancing the board.
I can't believe this thread is still going on.
Peeople love to hate, i guess. They get some sadistic pleasure from it.

Honestly, with seeing the behaviour of most of this "fandom", I don't personally give an ever loving fuck if you feel stereotyped

Or you know, the show sucks and the freaks who obsess over it are painfully annoying.
What is with this pathetic little fandom and leveling ANYONE who doesn't like it as "haters" or "people who hate just to hate".
Guys listen I got an idea, this thread is meant to be about the rap and not an MLP discussion.
So if you want to discuss MLP do it through song, everybody wins.

2 things,
I did not label anyone as a "hater" at all. I pointed out the short fuse of them.
Secondly, take a chill pill, man. Your judgement is getting cloudy from the red haze of rage.

you didn't actually address anything I said. And it has become a short fuse because of how ungodly annoying and rampant its become. Then apoligists like you come and try to chalk up the annoying part of this sick little fan club as very few people.
And anger is a very difficult thing to read via text. I don't particularly think I was conveying that. So if you got that out of my post, then you really need to reevaluate human emotion.

So you tell me this quote is not a rage induced opinion? Okay, good to know how you see it.
Yeah, you really need to reevaluate how people convey emotion.
Are you one of those people who go "U MAD?" to anyone who gives an opinion? I see quite a lot of those blokes, and I must say you strike me as one.
