Maxed 135 Bench today. It sounds weak as fuck, but this year i started out barely doing 95. I feel happy as fuck.
dont worry man as long as you're improving
Does gum really make your body think you're eating?
I always eat bubblegum. Don't know about reducing the need to eat but it's good for my teeth plus it gives my jaws something to do so it's good enough.
Haven't really checked, but I'd say no. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline]
I always eat bubblegum. Don't know about reducing the need to eat but it's good for my teeth plus it gives my jaws something to do so it's good enough.
Oral fixation.

*reads a little wikipedia* Ehm, dunno, it's a possibility I suppose. I wasn't a very active eater/drinker though, since I always fell asleep during the progress and continued the business later if I was still in the position to do so :v: I don't get any ill effects when not eating gum, I just like to think it protects my precious teeth and makes my breath smell nicer than nothing. I'd say I'm protective over my teeth rather. EDIT: and har har Perfumly.
don't know about reducing the need to eat
i think the point is it makes you want to eat more i heard that the chewing creates acid in your stomach that is ready to start digesting the food that it assumes you're about to swallow. nothing ever gets there though so you've got all this excess acid doing nothing. this makes you feel hungry. apparently. chewing gum always makes me feel hungry probably just shit bro science
Dunno, I never get hungry when I eat gum. God forbid if I stop eating it though.
Just undergone surgery on my arm, recovery time is eight weeks, 6 small holes in each of the bones in my left arm. I can either not do any of my exercises like DL, bench, rows etc for the time its recovering, or just do them very low weight for more reps, as my surgeon advised.
Do everything one handed for max strength, then go back to hypertrophy :)
What effect do abdominal excercises other than improving core strength... does it have any aesthetic bonus at all?
What effect do abdominal excercises other than improving core strength... does it have any aesthetic bonus at all?
They build abdominal muscle if you do them right.
What effect do abdominal excercises other than improving core strength... does it have any aesthetic bonus at all?
They remove excess body fat from your stomach
They remove excess body fat from your stomach
I really hope you're trolling
I was joking...
Sooo i got my MRI results today. My both heels are partly fractured :/
Sucks, here's to hoping they'll heal up quickly.
I was just wondering, how long does it take for muscle to start to go away?

[editline]29th October 2011[/editline]
I was just wondering, how long does it take for muscle to start to go away?
depends on too many factors.
What kind of surgery exactly? [editline]29th October 2011[/editline] depends on too many factors.
I had stainless steel metalwork in my left arm, they removed it, and there are holes where the screws were placed.
Kinda off-topic but does anyone know the negative effects of a Lecithin supplement? I've been taking it and it's pretty fantastic. Acne is clearing up and my hair seems stronger too. also is it good/bad for dat der muscles?

Fucking sucks :C
weight gain
thanks but no excess calories cause weigh gain, not supplements
thanks but no excess calories cause weigh gain, not supplements
Derp >< My bad. Can't self rate box D:
On another off-topic question: Is it possible to work 'past' shin splints? Fucking sucks :C
No ice and stretch before and after exercise, if it persists then you really need to take a break. don't think you can get away with exercising with shin splints, you will fuck up your shins. shin splints hurt like balls because your muscles are separating from the bone.
They build abdominal muscle if you do them right.
What do you mean do them right, is there a specific form that is more effective?
What do you mean do them right, is there a specific form that is more effective?
Depends on what exercise your talking about. Aesthetically obliques can center the abs, making them look more defined and bigger, if you work them in the body builder style (high reps low weight) However, working them powerlifter style (high weight low reps) causes them to get bigger, giving you a fat appearance, hence why powerlifters are always big as fuck, and dont really have that V shape. Working ab's with weights can cause them to get big, and defined. Bigger abs = more visibility, and less body fat= more visibility, combining both = awesomesauce.
fuck genetics
If i take creatine lets say.. for 4 months, and stop taking it, how much time does it take for me to get smaller? I just started taking it about a month ago and i'm already seeing results, but would i lose them if i wanna stop taking creatine and just work out with whey? (Im taking creatine and whey) OH! and another question.. Do i have to bench untill failure? I'm trying to do 5x5, i can do 115s but my arms don't get tired. I just get bored. My arms NEVER get tired unless i do it alot. And i'm pretty sure 115's a good weight for me.

MUSCLE CREATED WHILE ON CREATINE, stays with the absense of creatine. Its just muscle. You may lose a bit of size from water retention, but thats it. And whey is just protein man, you find that in just about every food.. Pick a weight that you can do 5 times with effort, then stack weight on it for 3 sets. Dont do a 5x5 for more than a month or two, your body wont be able to keep up with it and you can end up overtraining in noob gain stage.
