Please actually read about creatine if your going to use it. MUSCLE CREATED WHILE ON CREATINE, stays with the absense of creatine. Its just muscle. You may lose a bit of size from water retention, but thats it. And whey is just protein man, you find that in just about every food.. Pick a weight that you can do 5 times with effort, then stack weight on it for 3 sets. Dont do a 5x5 for more than a month or two, your body wont be able to keep up with it and you can end up overtraining in noob gain stage.
Understood. Thanks man!
Understood. Thanks man!
If you tell me your max i can pick a weight you should be able to do for each set, For instance, my max is 165, and my bench set is usually 95 20 times to warm up before i hit my sets, then i hit 140 for a set of five, depending on how i feel, i may do 140 again, or 145 for a set of five then i aim for 150 for a set of five afterwords.

So that's pretty much my max i guess. I can do 6-7 115s i can probably do about 11-14 95s
However, working them powerlifter style (high weight low reps) causes them to get bigger, giving you a fat appearance, hence why powerlifters are always big as fuck, and dont really have that V shape.
dude what powerlifters are big because they eat 2x-3x as many calories as you do and usually have a really high bodyfat nothing to do with any rep-ranges
Yeah, I was going to say, it's the rep range that results is hypertrophy that gets you big, which is 8-12 if i'm not very much mistaken. Low reps result in strength gain because you are capable of lifting a higher weight.
Nonetheless, they won't give you a "fat appearance".
Indeed, more like a bulky appearance though, I wouldn't call it fat.
Nonetheless, they won't give you a "fat appearance".
Im saying, if you look at a bodybuilders obliques compared to a powerlifters, theirs aren't going to be made just for complete size and strength.
bbers neglect obliques because they take away from the "broad" shoulder look.
Hmm... I've never really been shredded/ripped, but at the moment i'm really enjoying being very muscular with a fairly high bodyfat, i'm at 15.5% I believe, and it feels great.

I'm pretty damn happy i got bigger. Last year i was 105 pounds and like 67 inches. This year I'm 130 and 68 inches. I'm tired of being skinny. 130's still pretty skinny but hey. If you look at me last year..
Lol, pwned my dad today. Looked at his height records, and weight records, at 16 he was 5'2 & 1/4th, weighed 104. Im 5'8 and weigh 151. Lets see if i can hit 6 foot.
Where are some places to buy a cheap but decent bench? I can't go to the school gym anymore because they made this bullshit policy where only people that go to that school can use the gym. Can't spare money on a gym membership, but I can spend at least $120 to get a bench. Unless they are shitty even at that price.

You just gotta look around. I got 4 weights (2x 25 and 2x 10) olympic bar, bench all for 200 bucks in total
thanks, I guess i'll look at walmart first.

Yet you can't afford a gym membership? A half decent gym would be $15 a month I reckon, go for that mate. (Just giving advice not trying to start an argument)
Definately go to a gym rather. You'll need to keep buying lots of weights to keep up with what you're lifting otherwise. Cause generally unless you spend hundreds of dollars on a decent bar (olympic), you'll have a sub-5kg bar with 40kg on it, which isn't gonna be much use to you at the rate you'll be improving.
Yeah that's true, I would have to buy a bar that's longer and more weights, since i've been going to the school gym I haven't had to buy weights and all I got is 100 pounds of weights total.
Find a fairly cheap gym, I have a 1 year membership at an $100 a month gym that I can't back out of... It's a very nice place, but is highly orientated for weight loss/cardio, there is what could be known as a "weightlifting corner".
what happens if I am already fat but I start working at golds gym? no cardio all weight lifting
what happens if I am already fat but I start working at golds gym? no cardio all weight lifting
you gain muscle derp
what happens to the fat
How high is your bodyfat, if you cant be asked to measure it just give us a estimate. I was 17% when I started working out, I didn't eat very much while lifting so I went down to 10%, but then I was just like 'Fuck it', and started eating like crazy, I went up to 15% and I feel much better. So if you are < 25%, just work out. if you are like 30% or above, I would suggest doing some HIIT and eating at a deficit. What happens to the fat? Muscle uses up more energy than fat, so it will burn, but not a huge amount, you will probably get rid of those man sits and saggy gut, but it won't make you ripped or anything.
a question so retarded that I won't bother answering (User was banned for this post ("Not going to answer? Don't post about how you won't then." - Seiteki))
Some people don't know shit about lifting. OH MY GOD!!! [editline]30th October 2011[/editline]
what happens to the fat
As you gain muscle your metabolism gets a lot "faster". It takes more energy to sustain your body, consequently. Your body will "burn" off the fat for energy especially if you eat at a caloric deficit.
I've recently found another way to work out: work in construction :v:

[editline]30th October 2011[/editline] what if I take protein powder as well [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] and creatine
So I'll just lose all the fat while wieght lifting? [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] what if I take protein powder as well [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] and creatine
Well since you have fat already, you don't need to have a high calorie diet like skinny people like me. Just eat lots of protein but don't overeat. Also run everyday.
So I'll just lose all the fat while wieght lifting? what if I take protein powder as well and creatine
Yes more muscle means (a little) more calories burnt daily, but still you won't lose any fat in long term unless you are on calorie deficit aka you eat less than you consume. And uh, what about them?
