My body is finally starting to look like something beautiful for the first time after recovering from my hand injury.
I would say that you're always beautiful but I don't want to drown in rainbows.

Any tips for energy? Some days I can barely lift about 2 sets and I just feel awful. I can't go cardio as long either. Other days I feel terrific and I just work out with passion

how much hours of sleep is considered plenty
8-9 hours of sleep a night is considered plenty enough
9 hours seems excessive to me but idk I'm not a doctor
9 hours seems excessive to me but idk I'm not a doctor
Maxxed 145 yesterday. Starting bench: 95 Max: 145 yaay
Nice job, bro. How long have you been lifting for now?
about 4.5 months, a bit less maybe.
That's not bad, man. Keep that shit up and enjoy noob gains will you have them!
The whole sleep thing is different for everyone, I'm pretty tired for a while after I wake up with only 8 hours, with 9, I can usually get up before my alarm clock goes off, and I will have more success in the gym. Sleep as much as you can, sleep is the time when you burn the most fat, and build ALL the muscle. I'm going to bed actually.
Sleep is not different, what you do with your life is different. The fact, whether you like it or not, people need 7+ hours minimum in order to get a decent, productive sleep and results. Some would say; "Fuck you! I can sleep 2 hours a night and not get tired at all!". Sure, you might, but in most cases you look like a skinny fuck and can't care less about food either. There might be exceptions, but that law, for my personal experience, goes for anyone. [editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
how much hours of sleep is considered plenty
How to obtain great energy; Are you eating right? Are you sleeping enough? Are your routines constant (diet and sleep?)? What's your daily life like? Have you ever stopped to think maybe you have some sort of physical issue; have you done any blood tests recently to check for general health? How about mental health; are you depressed, experienced any things recent in your life that could change how you feel (mental status effects physical status) ----- When did this start? did you switch to a new routine or was it a constant thing since training? So many questions to ask... this covers most of the worlds issues.
I find sleeping for 7-9 hours and then waking up and deciding to have a short sleep for an extra hour or two ends up leaving you pretty drowsy, don't do that.
I function the best if I sleep for 8ish hours, go take a leak and then go back to bed for 4-6 hours. That doesn't happen too often though, since I usually am not sleepy enough for that. Plus I often get a guilty feeling if I sleep too long.
8 hours is guilty? that's the bear minimum. I sleep for 8 hours and feel like a champion.
If I wake up past 8 AM on a weekend I feel like I wasted an entire day. [editline]7th December 2011[/editline] so 6-7 hours for me
Right, I've been on SL 5x5 for 9 weeks and my legs and knees are starting to ache. I feel like I need a week or two off from the gym to let my body recover. Is this a good idea to take a break so soon after starting? And will I lose much muscle? I do a lot of other activities outside the gym that contributed to this fatigue.
Yes, it's a good idea. Check your form with an experienced lifter.
I read somewhere that 6-8 hours is the best for the average joe. I don't know if that takes into account regular exercise, however.
I feel guilty if I'm waking up at 3pm or later. Longest I've slept was 17 hours I think.
17 hours? how the fuc? I'd be dead by the 15th hour
waste of time sleeping that much
I read somewhere that 6-8 hours is the best for the average joe. I don't know if that takes into account regular exercise, however.
Disregards completely.
I was really tired after some wacky sleeping schedule re-working, so I basically just couldn't get up from bed due to tiredness except to go to bathroom around the middle. On the night after that I still slept 11 hours so I guess there was still sleep left in me. Crazy weekend. I generally sleep 10-12 hours during holidays and weekends and 6ish hours during weekdays.
I don't know about you guys, but I wake up every 2 hours when I'm having a hardcore sleep during the day. My mindset is so that I feel the biological urge to wake up every 2 hours to eat, as I usually try to. Those kind of sleep tend to fuck you up, I usually compensate with short, not one-time-lengthy-night-sleeps, during the day, sleeps. 2-3 hours.
I sleep anywhere from 8-10 hours on weekends.
I work on a bar and have to stay to clean up etc. I get home on the nights I work and eventually get to sleep at 3am. I work 2 nights on weekdays and am juggling college as well (Whcih means up at 7:30). Will this affect my progress, if sleep is that important?
