pussy shit
Why the fuck does it matter?
Oh wait, you're probably one of those people who go into gyms and grunt while you lift, and judge people for working out at their own level, the way they want. I'm not a bodybuilder dipshit, and I'm trying to get in better shape for track.
[editline]8th June 2011[/editline]
And yes, I do squat as well. About 70kg right now. I do a lot of stuff. But to whoever said 3x10 was wrong, what do you suggest?
3x5 , 5x5 or really anything 3-5x5-8 make it so its the most ammount of weight you can have while still proper form
[editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
whats wrong with grunting while working out? sounds to me, like NotMeh sorta said, you're working at too low of a weight
if you want to build muscle, lose fat - get "in better shape", you have to blast your muscles to exhaustion bro - if you're doing 3x10, maintaining the same amount of reps in the third set, shows you aren't doing enough reps when you able to do more - Don't stop lifting when your mind says "this is tiring, stop it", you keep going until your muscles are burning in agony, until you can do no more - then DO MORE!
this is retarded
durr lets do useless amounts of volume , feel the burn nigga
fuckin feel

I've got these fucking collars that are a huge god damn pain to actually fit onto my olmypic barbell. They look something like this:
http://www.ironcompany.com/olympicspringcollarswgripspairironcompanyoc-06a.aspx
There's no grip on the handles so they dig into my hands, and they never slide right onto the bar; you have to wiggle them to get them on and its a fucking pain. I thought about not using them at all but I don't want the weights to fall off if my form isn't right... are there any decent alternatives?
I spent like fucking 15 minutes of my workout today taking them on and off

"hassle-free"
Well, by grunt I meant show off in general. I understand that sharply exhaling helps, I do it too, I'm talking about unnecessarily loud grunting, hahah. And I think I'll try for 270 lbs next time and see how many I can do, does that sound good?
I grunt like a motherfucker when I squat. It just happens.

Noted.
Being on a high protein diet feels soooooooo fucking good for some reason.
last night i asked my dad to come and spot for me, as i don't have a benching rack i get him to lift the bar over my head. this was my first time ever attempting a 56kg bench, the most weight i'd ever done beforehand being 36kg. he straight up said i wouldn't be able to even do one rep.
when i managed five he said i wouldn't be able to complete another set.
i did four more
then i realised he did it on purpose, his saying i couldn't do it made me rage at him, i had to prove to both of us that i'm getting stronger
OH DAD
why have you been using 36 kg if you can do 56 kg?
Im squatting and leg pressing as heavy as I can manage, but it's not very much (probably about 47kg).
Regardless, my legs are aching 2 days after the workout, and I'm seeing/feeling muscles I've never seen before so I assume I dun good.
I fucking hate squats.

If it's a good weight for you then don't worry if it's "not very much". Only positively compare yourself to others. Good job.
Now have fun free falling into the toilet when you have to take a shit.

That's a lovely story but as sp00ks already p much said you should never have that drastic of a change. You should always be pushing your limits (safely).
Congrats, though. I'm glad you're seeing progress!

Well today I learned those were called collars. I always called them clamps.
The only advice I have is investing in better ones like in the link. If it's that much of a bitch then I'd say that's your best alternative and they aren't particularly expensive.
I wouldn't recommend lifting without collars, it sounds like a good way to hurt yourself unnecessarily.

SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT
First time I've looked at a before and after picture. Holy shit, I notice a huge difference in my arms. This is probably a few months progress. Have the links?
Hey yall, I got a question, since I stopped Dieting a few weeks ago, I was at 1500 cals per day with no weight training, now I'm up to about 2500-3000 calories and I'm doing SL 5x5.
I've heard shit about Metabolism slowing down, and "When you start eating again, you'll get fat again quickly".
Is this something I should worry about, or should I just disregard that fact since I'm weight lifting doing a fuckton of compound lifts?
[editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
That SL 5x5 has to be working, because my appetite has increased 10 fold. Even on my rest days I can not believe how fucking hungry I'm getting.
Very happy about that though, I'm trying to stay eating clean.
Very good looking iJeax, the progress is definitely visible.
