Well, im doing football and getting stronger, im mainly doing 3x10 powerlifts, then explosive isolation shit, and intense cardio. My main question is: i want to get stronger (using these exercises), but is it possible to drop fat at the same time, while not threatening strength/endurance? I doubt i could be a lineman (185 lb 5'10") unless i ate a buffet out of business for lunch every day or hijacked EU's food supply or did gomad, so could i lose that fat while still building resistance/strength/endurance/wtfever?
do not gomad
I doubt i could be a lineman (185 lb 5'10") unless i ate a buffet out of business for lunch every day or hijacked EU's food supply or did gomad
the joke your head
Got a new program recently. It's working pretty well for some reason, even though it's crazy simple.
post it so we can bitch about it
Yeah hold on. Just gonna translate it.
Takes 3 hours to translate in Norway?
Went to the gym for the first time on a few months today, realised I couldn't be fucked to follow a structured program, will probably do a few main lifts every time, but following a program took the fun out of it. Going to do some cardio and eat good for a while, make my body look better. Also, saw the most tank dude ever today, he honestly looked like stallone but chiselled as fuck.
the joke your head
if u have to explain it, its not funny
oh god legs day for the first time ever i cant move
if u have to explain it, its not funny
~~matter of opinion~~ seemed pretty self explanatory to me anyway. either way, i dont think football is my thing. I miss the simple days of going up to the gym, taking my time, enjoying my lifting session. Now it's pushupspushupspushups isolations cardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardio powerlifts cardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardiocardio. Then running a half mile because some guy did 9 reps on his 3x10. All in 50 minutes.
Will taking opiates after a workout affect muscular hypertrophy? (recreational use, sniffing dilaudids yo)
Not really, no.
I just realized i haven't curled for like 3 months :o Ima start again. All i've been training in my arm are my triceps and forearms.. need some biceps mang Also why do i diarrhea when on creatine. I've lowered my dose, drank it with carbs, and tried to melt it with the drink (microwave) I went down from 5 G to about 3-4 G and my stomach is still being a little bitch about it. Oh and another question.. I just don't feel like eating anymore. I don't know why. There's times where i'm just tired of food... how do i avoid that??
Okay, so I have been doing a mix of Strong Lifts and a general weight/cardio program for the last month. I've lost 12 pounds (6 kilos) and can now run 5km in 25 minutes (up from not being able to run 100m without running out of breathe. I can't post body photos, but I can post a headshot to give you a general idea of progress Before (12th of December) : - 93.5 Kg Today (10th of January) - 87.3kg Gone from a size 102 to a size 92 - or in US, a 42 to a 38. edit: I also changed my diet. I haven't had fast food in over a month, am eating nuts (almonds, walnuts, brazil, macadamia and pistachio - all raw) and berries for snacks (raw, not cooked) instead of potato chips or whatever I was snacking on before. I cut out soda almost completely (but I still enjoy a can of coke every now and then). I also drink more water. It wasn't a major change, and I don't really count calories unless it is something I'm considering snacking on, and then I'll check it, think about what I had already today, and then decide whether or not it is worth it.
you go, dude. you would look cool in a cop uniform [editline]10th January 2012[/editline] [editline]10th January 2012[/editline] yep see i knew it
Okay, so I have been doing a mix of...
See? This guy totally got it. It's no rocket science behind fitness, just do your workout and do your food. An example for all the constant bitchers around :D
my left pec is growing A LOT more faster than my right one .. uh, help?
my left pec is growing A LOT more faster than my right one .. uh, help?
Do one arm presses?
Anyone have any ideas why my bench press is improving so little as compared to my other lifts? I'm doing starting strength, and I notice that by the third session, I could increase my squat by 25, my deadlift by 30, but my bench press went up 5 from my first session, but I busted my balls today and couldn't finish my work sets even at the previous days weight.
Because your arms are smaller than you're legs/back.

Maybe its your form, maybe your doing it too much or too little. My bench is pretty bad compared to my squat. Brb squat goes up 25lbs a month consistently, bench barely moves.

So, verify correct form and keep at it? Possibly some arm work? (The book "Starting Strength" says Chinups)
Is it okay if i skip a workout? When i come home from wrestling practice everything fucking hurts. Seriously wrestling's gonna break me someday. My wrists, my back, my knee, my ankle, my neck, my shoulders. The fuck man. Bye gains.
On the second week of Stronglifts 5x5. What do you guys eat before and post workout? Just wanna get some suggestions on what to eat.
What's your opinion on this one fellas. Kicked off a 12wk program last week. Current weight: 81.5kg Body fat %: NFI, seriously who carries around a pair of fucking calipers Daily diet consists of target of ~2400 calories. Typical daily intake: Breakie - 2 eggs (with wholemeal toast if no oatmeal), cup of OJ, oatmeal/whey protein Meal 2 - 100g Tuna, muesli bar Lunch - 2 eggs (or replaced with whey protein), pasta/mince meat/chicken (1 cup) Meal 4 - 100g tuna, 190g plain yoghurt + 1 cup of blueberries Dinner - 2 eggs, pasta/chicken/mince meat, 1 cup OJ Post WO - whey protein, muesli bar, spacefood stick Average protein intake is around 140g Average carbs intake is around 160-200g 3 days per week of workout, split across Mon, Wed, Fri. Monday: BB front squats, Romanian deadlifts, BB calf raises, Weighted crunches Wednesday: Benchpress, Shoulder press, tricep extensions Friday: Deadlift, Pull-ups, DB seated bicep curls Typical sets of 3-4 with reps of 6-10 depending on the lift. Yes I know that's a very light on set, but I've sporadically done more complex sets in the past and I don't really stick with it for more than a few weeks due to so much fucking around. I figure if I get into this one for at least a month I can add variation and routine if required. Or am I just wasting my time? Goal is to lose body fat and gain muscle. I'm an athletic build and would typically be aiming to gain mass straight up, but the layer of fat floating around my stomach is giving me the shits hence the body fat reduction goal.
On the second week of Stronglifts 5x5. What do you guys eat before and post workout? Just wanna get some suggestions on what to eat.
Well, I get up at 4:20 A.M. (4:20 errrrrday) Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so I usually don't eat anything before my workout. However, after I will normally have the following: 4 Eggs 1 Cup Plain Nonfat Yogurt 1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 Cup Milk and 1/2 cup of oats. This is about 600 calories or so, possibly even more
