I was thinking more along the lines of 17 is still pretty young to be fucking with your endocrine system. I'd wait a year or two at least. But w/e it's your choice. All I can say is I hope you've done a lot of research, more than just my cursory introduction to the evil roids in my thread.

I want to do a lifting program like Madcow 5x5 but it's a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule when I can only reliably go to the gym Monday and Wednesday through Friday since I have to use my school gym, and it's only always open on those days, Tuesday has teacher's meetings and every other Friday is a short day, so the gym's only open 30 minutes during lunch.
There's a small chance that the football coach will keep the gym open for a few hours on Saturdays, which I could sneak in on, but I'm not sure. If that happens, I'll just move my workout to Saturday when Fridays don't work. But if now, could I get away with doing it Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, or only doing it twice a week? Or is there another program I can do that will work well. Right now, I'm kind of doing a 5x5 program with a full body workout on Monday, then arms on Wednesday and finish off with legs on Thursday.

you can cut out thurs and do some light cardio another 1 or 2 times in the week. light as in actually light just light jogging for like 20 mins .

I want to start using the gym at my university. I went all through high school being a tad insecure of what I look like, plus I just need the boost in health and confidence. The gym is free as a student and they have tons of equipment. Thing is, none of my friends in town go to my college, and I can't afford a membership. I guess I'm just a bit embarrassed, I know I'm gonna look like a total jackass when I go in. Also, I'm a bit unsure as to which plan to follow. I'm 19, 6' 4", and about 245-250 (fatty with some minor muscle underneath, don't know my BMI but it's too high I'm sure). Anyways, I can't seem to find any reliable place to find a decent plan. I don't want to get lean, I want to get some muscle shape and bulk up some. Problem areas are mostly waist, and and pecs (lol everywhere). I just don't really know where to start and what routine I should start with. Thanks!

Lifting is a great way to lose weight. Believe it or not, people don't judge as much as you would think. High activity cardio is also a super good way to lose weight. Not just running a mile or whatever, but I know that when I do MMA training for 3-4 hours I lose thousands of calories (not that i need to lose them~~.)

Just interested... How much does your 1rm and 5 rep squat differ?
I just hit 117.5kg for 5 reps yesterday. The first reps felt incredibly light but I started leaning slightly forward with the 4rd and 5th reps. I'm quite careful because I never have spotters. If I feel good I'm gonna try 120kg next time. Here I come 2x bodyweight !

I squat 345lb with knee wraps and a weight belt for one rep, and the most I've squated for 5 reps (But this was for 5 sets of 5, so I could do more for only one set) was 275lb with just a weight belt, no knee wraps.
If im doing SS and I want to go surfing, Do I have to do it on offdays? I think doms will be a bit of a bother..
I'd do it on my off days, but it depends on the person really

There's a difference between 5rm and 1rm and that is your goal. In 1rm, is the most weight you can for just once and 5rm, is the most you can for 5 (with good form, clean 5 reps)
So, the weight should shift heavier or lighter depending on your goal of rm
Anyone experience fish oil burps? I've been taking fish oil for about 6 months and I have yet to experience it.
