Finished my 12th week of SS and I think I want to move on to a split routine. Went from 125 to 134 pounds. Height is 5'7. Before: Benchpress: 115 Squat: 125 Deadlift: 135 Now: Benchpress: 170 Squat: 225 Deadlift: 265 Any advice on whether or not I should move on to a split? I'm getting really friggen bored of SS...

what did i say two weeks ago kellogs??????
what did i say two weeks ago kellogs??????
You said you were sexually attracted to me? I tried to make those pics as sexy as i could, sorry. Jeez. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] Also, two pack abs ftw.
I just did my first 5x5 of overhead press and by the 4th set my legs were shaking. Is that normal or is my form wrong or am I just weak as fuck? (rhetorical question, I know I'm weak as fuck) it says online to clench my ass together, I don't think I did though. Would that do it?
Whenever I do standing OHP, I use my back a lot. It's weird.
What should I consider stalling on a set? Should it be when I have to spend one to several seconds bulking up for for a big push, or literally not being able to finish the set? Or somewhere in between? I find that I've been considering it a failed set only if I physically can't finish it. Is this correct?
No. Going to failure is dumb anyway.
No. Going to failure is dumb anyway.
Well, it's not necessarily going to failure. I know if I'm going to fail a rep or not. But I'll try to take it down a notch.
wtf are you even asking like i cannot understand something about your lifting tempo or what?
How can I get past the sticking point in bench press? I've hit a plateau with bench press and nothing else, squats and dead lift are advancing just fine, my squats jumped from 275 to 290 pounds, and my dead lift max jumped from 365 to 370 pounds, but my bench press max has been at 175 pounds since April. My problem with bench press is that I get stuck at a certain point, that if someone helps me past it, I can complete the rest of the lift. How can I fix this?
The fuck you can DL 370?
The fuck you can DL 370?
It's really my strongest lift. I'm very heavy so my legs are naturally very strong.
I can squat about 250, DL about 165, and Can bench about 100. I can't bench to save my life. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] Those are my 5 reps ea. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] But I'm not worried, I've added so much more weight to my lifts then when I started.
How the fuck is your squat bigger than DL? Check your form on both lifts, I'm 100% sure you're doing something very wrong.
How the fuck is your squat bigger than DL? Check your form on both lifts, I'm 100% sure you're doing something very wrong.
I've checked 100 times, I'm doing it right. My legs are 3x as powerfull as my arms, I have fucked genetics, so my arms don't contribute much to my D\L. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] I also have a pretty weak back. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] Also I do my squats are done on the smith machine.
Your arms aren't supposed to contribute to your DL bro
Also I do my squats are done on the smith machine.
lol stop
DL = Back + Legs, brah.
I know what you mean now, not pulling on the bar, just holding it, then raising up, then when the bar hits reaches knee level; push hips forward. I was doing it right except I was using my arms to get it off the ground, hard not to. And why no smith machine squats?
I believe it's because you won't need some stabilizer muscles then, which makes it too easy and unrealistic.
