dumbbell squats prob aren't the best option. Most of the time your fores will get tired before your legs do
If your forearms are made of spaghetti =)
bunsko climbs shit his fores have to be the opposite of noodles
Do you guys think dumbbell shoulder presses can be a replacement for military press?
I don't think they work the same muscles, or at the very least it's a different balance. Could be wrong of course, as always.
Do you guys think dumbbell shoulder presses can be a replacement for military press?
yes
I don't think they work the same muscles.
The fuck? http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/DeltoidAnterior/DBShoulderPress.html http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/DeltoidAnterior/BBMilitaryPress.html Summary: No significant difference
If your forearms are made of spaghetti =)
uh if you're holding 200+ pounds in each arm i'd say your fores are going to get tired
Fucking a, I suck at benching. I can barely add 5 lbs per workout and be able to complete 3 sets. Any way to remedy this?
adding 5lbs per workout is good
Not really. Unless he means 5 pounds per pec. My recommendation is to eat more [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] It's not a bad amount as long as he's consistently going up 5 [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] but still
on SS people increase like 2.5% or something i believe per week which usually implies less than 5lbs but whatever!!!!!
oh wow I saw the stupidest shit ever in my gym yesterday a group of 3 teens (all of 'em about ~110 lbs) crowding the only god damn squat rack in the entire fucking gym only to CURL the god damn bar. Had to wait like 30 minutes for these phaggots to get off there and squat.

So I should've jumped on them and beat the living shit out of them, right? will do next time thx bro
or, you know, you could ask to jump in with them or suggest they try another bar since it's the only squat rack
Like they know what a squat rack even is... they probably don't know what a squat is. I've only ever seen like 4 people out of 50 in my gym squat (including myself) dead srs
Or, go in, tell them how THEY SHOULD do curls, put 700 pounds, lift. Profit.
700 pound curls? no problem brah
Yo brahs, does my broad shoulders and slim waist, make me a mesomorph? Anyway here are some new progress pictures, if anyone remembers previous ones. inb4 anyone finds the tarantula. My abs are shaped nicely! Too bad my abdomen is sticking out. That would be me! I really want to fix it man. ah! a member of my pectus army! [editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Like they know what a squat rack even is... they probably don't know what a squat is. I always at least ask how many sets they have left.
Hmm, strange, even looking at those pics I'd imagine the shoulder press puts more stress on the shoulders while the military press puts more stress on the uppermost chest muscles. At least when I do those the military press can be felt more front than the shoulder press.
700 pound curls? no problem brah
SQUATS.
I'm back again, simple question, I guess. I'm a 14 year old, decently strong, been working out and running for about a month, asking my dad to buy me a barbell for my birthday, it's adjustable, it can go up to 40kg with the provided weights. I was kind of wondering if that is an appropriate weight for my level of progress.

Very soon.

my gym only has 1 squat rack and I've been using it for everything (besides bench press), I don't think anyone has actually been waiting for me to finish so they can use it but I still feel bad. I obviously need it for squats, but is there anything else I can use for OHP, barbell rows and deadlifts? (I realize I don't even need a rack for rows and dls but there's not much free floor space so I think I'd be in the way if I wasn't at a rack). Theres a set of those (I don't know what weight they go to though), could I do OHP with them? sorry if I sound stupid, I've only been going to the gym for 2 weeks :v:
I don't see why not? also try rack pulls instead of DLs
SQUATS.
Squat rack? You mean curl area right?
I've been weightlifting for about a month now, and i could use some easy exercises for the triceps, right now I'm doing Pushdowns, Dips, Kickbacks and overhead triceps extensions. I'm doing these exercises with 15-22 pound dumbbells. But as i said, i just started out and i need some tips on better exercises.
