I need to de-migitize. 5 foot 6 is unacceptable.
Just stretch more. I started doing a mile on the treadmill before working out. Feels good man
Just stretch more. I started doing a mile on the treadmill before working out. Feels good man
I stretch like a motherfucker cause I have to. I'm Maltese. Statistically we are the shortest people in all of Europe. FML?
Is it good that i alternate my Biceps curls like this (hard to explain): http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Biceps/DBCurl.html Day 1: I do that curl, except that my palm turns outwards (I hope it's understandable) Day 3: I do the same curl, except this time my palms are pointing inwards (to me) I hope it was understandable! Also. Random question: What good does deloading do?
why dont you just rotate them every time you do them? i believe thats the normal way to do it, getting full range of motion and whatnot
I don't rotate my arms when doing curls. I heard it actually makes it easier when you do that..
I don't get how the fuck some people can do 10+ sets of curls on a bicep/arm day. My arms are dead after the fukin 3rd, and PHAT requires at least 9.
why dont you just rotate them every time you do them? i believe thats the normal way to do it, getting full range of motion and whatnot
Because i heard that doing it my way isolates the parts of my muscles better. I also heard that doing one "side" completely (A full curl) builds the muscle better. You know "That part" of the bicep.

That type of curl incorporates the brachioradialis (the beer drinking muscle) along with the bicep.
When I curl with DB's, I don't twist. It just feels like I'm working the bicep more directly that way. Its just a personal preference for me.
damn. i think im getting addicted to lifting. before, it was a stuggle to go to the gym. then i started to see results. now im pissed on days i dont get to go, whether it be for lifting or cardio or anything. feels good.
JUST GODDAMN USE A BARBELL LIFT HEAVY SHIT AND KEEP DOING IT UNTIL U GAIN NO MORE
I have no barbell before school (Maybe later) What is wrong with dumbbells?
I have no barbell before school (Maybe later) What is wrong with dumbbells?
nothing is wrong with them. However when one gets into the nitty gritty of dumbbell curls ( to twist or to not!) it is generally better for the novice lifter to not bother himself with irrelevant details that won't affect his gains.
Instead of saying i HAVE to use barbells, why don't you just say that it won't affect my gains? I lifted weights last year. When i used the hammercurl, it was like a longer part of the bicep was getting bigger. When i did the other one, it was like a smaller, but rounder part of it got bigger. Just sayin'

When novices ( not saying you are) get all worked up about the details its better just tell them to stfu and use the barbell

But i'm just starting out again. The difference from last year to now, is that I enjoy lifting and eating healthy this time :P Also, i am that kind of person who needs to know shitload of stuff, because if i don't use my brain during weightlifting, it gets boring to me. Like, i need to stay active both in my brain and my body.
I don't think your brain should feel all that stimulated by having to twist your arm during a curl
I don't think your brain should feel all that stimulated by having to twist your arm during a curl
i think it's more of the principal of the thing. Knowing he's doing something extra? still lmao
Well, i am not twisting my arm, for one! And it came out wrong, too :P
140kg deadlift is starting to feel very light but I cant keep a good form. My back is slightly curved, though the weight is not on my spine and I haven't got any spinal pain. What should I do?
Reposting: What good does deloading do?
let's your cns (google it) rest a bit. Some weeks are hard, you can't sleep enough eat yada yada or 500000 other reasons and sometimes you just fall under the pressure. When you see the signs and nothing else has helped. Just deload. lower everything by 60-80%. Do it for a week or whatever you'd like, and bam.
