35lbs off but ok
85 lbs?
i started working out
i can barely bench press 65 lbs
this will be a long embarrassing process
I'm about 5'8-5'9 140 btw
I never used a supp. I keep going up in weights and I still am not dying to get a supp. Getting enough cals and protein is overrated. It's a conspiracy that bb.com created to get you to buy shit.

Any proof of this? I saw some stuff where they compare supplement free bodybuilders, to ones who take supplements, and ones who take steroids.
Supplement free/natural bodybuilders are slim, but still buff and muscular and shit.
Ones who take supplements are much more "big" and beefier than natural bodybuilders
and ones who take steroids are huge fucking huge and ripped.
I've seen it myself, not really any proof behind it but I've concluded people who take protein supplements just have that "beefy" look on them.

When it comes to arms, legs etc I don't embarrass myself as much.. but shoulders and chest? Jesus I am weak.
Well we will see in a month or two. I've been teetering between 150 and 153 for like weeks, and I've been eating a metric poop ton. Hope to gain at least 5-10 pounds from all this shit + normal diet.
[editline]3rd August 2011[/editline]
160 is a p rad goal and I really want to hit it.
Also 14 inch bis. Almost fucking there guys, almost.

Just stick with it, man. There's no reason to be embarrassed. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Sometimes it gets so bad I have to stop running, even when I'm not exhausted and can still sprint. Apparently happens to lots of other people to, but in different areas
Anyone know anything about this?
you mean a stitch?
everyone gets this. it's your body telling you that you suck at running and should practice more.
[editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
but seriously how do you guys not know what a stitch is
worked out for the first time in almost 4 weeks yesterday. I feel weak

What? "beefier" ? The fuck. Ingesting more protein won't cause any bloat, it's just the fact they're actual pro card bbers that fires your missile of radar.
No relation. If I would get enough protein through solid or whey, it has no difference. They're just more buff as they're... pro bbers.
You probably read it off T-Nation or some other commercial sites.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side_stitch
It's a stitch. If I get one I usually exhale when my left foot hits the floor and it soon goes away. If you want temporary relief (it will come back 10-15 minutes later if you do this) then you can tense the side the stitch is on and bend towards it a bit. That usually stops it for me but I haven't heard it being used by others.
Polar bear you are so dumb it astounds me
[editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
plz go read a physiology book
go fuck spaghetti
should've rephrased that, I've SEEN the results but I'm not directly saying "TAKE PROTEIN AND U GET BEEFY BRA", fuck no that would be dumb, it's just an interesting observation I've seen myself
A few routines I've seen (sl 5x5 for one) suggest increasing your lifts by 2.5 kgs each session, but my gym's smallest weight plates are 5 kgs, so I can only increase by a minimum of 10 kgs. What should I do?
Smallest 5kg? what a shitty gym. Try adding locks (they're usually 1.25kg or 2.5kg each)

brace yourself for cns overload and a lot of stalling baby.
What? look, do whatever. It's not the WRONG way.
If I had the cash, I would have bought a shit load of supps by now. I've been working out for almost 2years, not including my shitty years.. [4 in general I'd say]
I never used a supp. I keep going up in weights and I still am not dying to get a supp. Getting enough cals and protein is overrated. It's a conspiracy that bb.com created to get you to buy shit.
Life is easier with supps, but at this forum's current strength and mass levels, it's just not something you need other than convenience.
Price of 200g of protein with a gainer = $0.50
Price of the tuna you'd need to buy to get 200g of protein = $15+
PS: Anyone got a fitocracy invite?
Do you guys have any tips for muscle gain? I've been eating a calorie surplus and a lot of protein all summer and weighed myself this morning to find out that I lost weight. That is definitely not what I wanted.

That means the calorie 'surplus' you've been eating was a deficit.
Eat more.

Didn't know we live in the same country. Supps here are imported, I gotta order the shit online.
Tuna costs bout the same, but it would cost me about a 100-150 bucks to get a 5 pounds box.
I gotta order shit online.. not sure about the customs but I think it's still worth it. I might reconsider.
I love you.

I don't know about your country but here you aren't getting any 100% protein under 14e/kg (the AFAIK cheapest is protein here is 11,24e/kg and that is actually 76% protein and bought in a 16kg sack.) With a gainer that is ~ double the price.
In the other hand you can get a kg of soy flour for a few € and the low fat version is around half protein. Soy beans are ~35% protein.
Been lookin at SL 5x5. Is it really the beast it's hyped up to be? i've been workin out about 2 months doin a split
just wondering if I could/should add some exercises into SL, like hammer curls, skull crushers or barbell flies?
Been doing it for 2 months now and I kinda want to stick around the gym longer, SL only takes me 20-25 minutes and doesn't really tire me out anymore.
And I wouldn't be dumb and do barbell flies on row day, I'd do flies on bench day and pulldowns on row day or something, muscle grouping or w/e
just noticed I have stretchmarks on my ass
umm
should i squat less or somethin

Not sure if late reply, sorry in advance if this is the case.
I think this is due to an improper warm up, I got this problem for a time, so I decided to look into it, and a large sum of the answers I found pointed straight to a shitty warm up.
