fuck genetics, my arms are loooong, benchpress will be eternally shit and fuck being short. Franco Columbu was 5'5" and deadlifted 750lbs raw. Can't wait until school weight room opens up, first time I'll have real access to a gym. 300lb deadlift LETS DO IT

Got caught with pot, and parents aren't trusting me to leave the house anymore, so i guess signing up for yearlong weightlifting actually is benefitting me. SWAG
Same here, only way I can go outside now is sneaking out or convincing my mum I'm not doing stupid shit, which is impossible. Although now I can light up in my shed and not dank up, alcoholic parents can't realize I'm gacked/crunked all day :D btw are they making you take tests?
Is it true that if you start weightlifting from an age, say like 14, that it will stunt your growth?
Dead lifted 188Kg , 5 reps. Boy am i feeling it in my back.
what?
it's my second time doing squats, give me a break lol (even though that's still pretty pathetic for my second time)
Is it true that if you start weightlifting from an age, say like 14, that it will stunt your growth?
no, 'tis a myth. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline] just know what youre doing and have good form and there will be nothing to worry about
When i start SL 5x5 tomorrow, i'm gonna post a picture of my pathetic out of shape self. It's gonna be a "before" picture, cause i know my life style is about to change for the better. I'll update relatively frequently to give you guys updates so you can tell me if i'm doing right. I'm a little nervous, but a little pumped. I'm ready to do this.
6 pounds gone now. Fasting, and doubling my runs to 4 miles a day. Does fish oil actually work?
6 pounds gone now. Fasting, and doubling my runs to 4 miles a day.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=7637481&page=1 i think so.
Alright, just picked up my first tub of vanilla flavoured brotein. Anyone have any recipes involving this shit? I tried mixing it with a cup of milk and nearly threw up because it was way too fucking sweet.
I've never tried vanilla, but I've been using chocolate protein for a while now, and my favorite way to take it is in a smoothie. Get a blender (I have a Magic Bullet, those things rock), toss in a scoop or two of powder, four or five ice cubes, some milk, blend it nicely, and BAM! It's just like an ice cream shake! I was raised on ice cream snacks, and this protein shake stuff is an awesome substitute for it. [editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
Starting SL 5x5 tomorrow...should be fun!
Me too, and I agree! We can compare gains, share experiences, learn from each others' mistakes, and make crude illustrations of what we'll look like when we're muscular. I will look like this:
Even your knuckles will becomes lumps of muscle!
I too am getting in to SL 5x5, i'm only 14, but I reckon it should be fine. It's very difficult though, I seem to be quite weak generally, is this because I am still growing? My brother for instance, who is 17, his muscles are tiny compared to mine, yet he is much much stronger than me.
Is it true that if you start weightlifting from an age, say like 14, that it will stunt your growth?
No. Anybody who tries to tell you differently is a fucking idiot hth. Growth plate closure occurs from a very large, temporary increase in estrogen, generally around 21-23, but it's not unheard of for dudes to keep growing to 25 for example. Weightlifting can actually stimulate growth, especially exercises that have a heavy load and some degree of spinal loading like deadlifting and squatting for example. [editline]15th August 2011[/editline]
6 pounds gone now. Fasting, and doubling my runs to 4 miles a day. Does fish oil actually work?
Um fish oil fucking owns.
Perfumly what is your height/weight?? That's pretty impressive. Deadlifting is the ultimate "showing off" exercise. So easy to impress nonlifters. :v:
I'm like 6'0 and 160-165lbs.
what do people mean when they say 5x5?
what do people mean when they say 5x5?
5 sets of 5 reps, a common routine setup for beginners, such as in SL 5x5
Back day today, time to get swole. Took some pre workout napalm from musclewarfare, i just realized it has a hormone enhancer, and says for me to do cycles of 3 months on, 1 month off. :o? But i dont give a fuck, insane amount of caffeine in it, and has a muscle engorger and gets your body heated up. Im sitting here sweating in my room waiting 30 mins to work out.
it's my second time doing squats, give me a break lol (even though that's still pretty pathetic for my second time)
just thought you'd be able to lift more
just thought you'd be able to lift more
How much is 40kg in pounds? roughly 80-85?? Damn dude, not trying to be mean but you should definitely be able to squat your own bodyweight without much problems. First time i squatted i was repping 145 8 times or so, and i weighed 130. I was too scared to go above 145 though, because when i first started, my football player friend told me to try his weight he had on there. I think it was 240, i leaned forward, and dropped all the weight on the rack cause i didn't have good form. Go back to it in 2 days, warm up with the bar (45 pounds) and then put 30 plates on, (1 on each side) then pop on 45 plates on each side. thats like, 135 and you should be able to do it. put a little box underneath your ass, and squat down slow, when your ass/balls touch the box, EXPLODE up from there with force. The "explosion" will get you used to pushing it very fast, allowing you to raise your max quite quickly. Same thing with benching, i used to do full jump pushups (like clap, but you push your legs off the ground too), the explosion force gets your body used to the motion of pushing it fast, allowing your benches to increase too. Anyway dont worry bud, you may not be squatting anything good, but give it time like anything and you'll be in great shape and getting the bitches. CHICKS DIG THE QUADS WHEN YOUR POWERFUCKIN EM;)
Can anyone help me perform a cut? I've got 6 weeks to lose 4% which should bring me down to about 6-8% total bodyfat.
Can anyone help me perform a cut? I've got 6 weeks to lose 4% which should bring me down to about 6-8% total bodyfat.
eat below maintenance whats the problem here?
Did the first day of SL. It was easy as hell, but knowing that it would get harder next time somehow made me more excited to keep going.
I just realized for the past two weeks I haven't drank any milk for my runs. Does that mean I never built any muscle?
seriously?
I just realized for the past two weeks I haven't drank any milk for my runs. Does that mean I never built any muscle?
i never drink straight milk what the shit are you on about
So I can run and do exercising shit without milk? What witchery is this.
So I can run and do exercising shit without milk? What witchery is this.
I'm pretty sure the only reason milk is suggested as a post workout drink is because it has some protein. It's not some miracle muscle building liquid.
So I can run and do exercising shit without milk? What witchery is this.
basic science
I'm pretty sure the only reason milk is suggested as a post workout drink is because it has some protein. It's not some miracle muscle building liquid.
Oh. Well, I guess I should just keep hydrated when I run and get more potassium. My right knee started to hurt beyond my two-mile mark and my left foot started to cramp. I went from 160 to 151lbs in like...6 days.
