Actually all 3 of you are completely WRONG Ab exercises won't burn ANY fat, forget about spot fat reduction, it's a myth. What you need is low bodyfat, that's all.
I have been on a fairly restricted diet for my cut, just wanted to check in. I have a bowl of either bran flakes or cheerios for breakfast, usually with a glass of orange juice. For lunch I make a smoothie, loads of fruit, milk and peanut butter. At dinner time I have chicken breast with non starchy vegetables like green beans or broccoli. On a workout day I make a protein shake with whey and milk. (A mate told me that I should have like three protein shakes a say, is this correct?)
No.
I just followed the instructions that come with the protein bag and did what it said.
Cortisol is the body's stress hormone. Like any hormone, a certain amount of it is needed for healthy body function, but too much can be nasty. Cortisol hampers the production of testosterone for one thing, can increase brown fat stores (i,e that nasty spots that are hard to get rid of, such as the fat pocket just under the belly button), inhibits insulin usage (insulin resistance), increases blood pressure etc etc. ofc most of these aren't a big concern unless you are having routinely high cortisol. The most noticeable effect however is feeling like absolute shit, and I guarantee you this will happen if you try to tackle high intensity exercise while in ketosis.
there isn't any brown fat in your lower abs, brown fat is in your upper chest and the back of your neck.
Shiiit my strawberry whey protein is just so delicous I just can't resist it. I take spoon of it dry every time I go past the bag lol.
Because carbs own. Because ketosis is potentially catabolic to people involved in a high intensity sport/ not to mention really shit for performance Because ketogenic diets are socially dysfunctional (o no im going to grab food with my friends but i cant eat any EVIL CARBS, so i'll just blow them off or starve while they enjoy a hearty meal) . Because you fucking stink when you are in ketosis Because ketosis isn't really that great. Do I need to keep writing text or do you get the general gist of the idea. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] Oh and having zero carbs causes really bad cortisol responses to high intensity exercise.
Carb loading weekend and mouthwash. Fixd. Possibly enjoy feeling great, no hunger, better sleep. Interesting study about aerobic exercise and ketosis http://www.biomedcentral.com/content/pdf/1743-7075-1-2.pdf Anaerobic exercise and full ketosis isn't very well studied tho. Some finnish study read mentioned something like after several weeks of ketosis adaption there seemed to be some type of unknown alternative to anaerobical energy production (lactic acid). Interesting.
Another gym day today, but this is the first day that I'm really not excited for it. I've been having trouble sleeping the past couple of days, and it's got me feeling ragged! I suppose all there is for it is to push through this session, though (after all, it's not like they take long).
I have horrible problems sleeping, but thats just because my sleep schedule is fucked up, i end up waking up at 11, and working out at 1. Plus my pre workout is a fuckton of caffeine in it, so it keeps me up forever. School will rape my sleep schedule, hopefully for the better.
there isn't any brown fat in your lower abs, brown fat is in your upper chest and the back of your neck.
Not brown fat, subcutaneous fat. Had a brain fart. Anyway, the spot men tend to store it in when they are already fairly lean is in the love handles and under the belly button. Interesting.
I've been there and done it many times, trust me. Anaerobic performance and low carbs do not mix. It fucking sucks hth. Besides why anyone would WANT to be in ketosis is beyond me. Trying to build any appreciable amount of muscle on low carbs is like trying to fuck while using chalk as lubricant. You can get it done, but it sure as hell won't be easy or enjoyable. Then there's the aforementioned social eating problems. And you may not realize this but you STINK while you are in true ketosis, if you are a guy with any appreciable amount of testosterone, you will probably stink enough as it is just sweating normally enough as it is. Lucky for you most chicks actually find the smell attractive on a physiological level, even if on a logical level it's repulsive. But combine this with the fruity smell from ketosis and you smell like a cat pissed on you (i'm exaggerating obviously, but it can be p. bad and you would be none the wiser until someone has the heart to go "you fucking stink dude")
each person responds differently with different diets, some people might respond better to a low carb diet over a moderate-high carb one, try one that works for you, but I find it easiest to have a high protein, moderate fat moderate carb diet.

First day at gym today. I got kinda disappointed when it came to how much i could lift, but it was fucking awesome. Full of huge, bad-ass looking dudes. I got surprised when the ones i talked with were super nice. I love my gym. It's huge, has good service, and the members are nice to noobs. Okay, now to some stats on my MASSELS. I followed the SL 5x5 program, day A. Squat: 110 lbs or 50 kg Bench: 80 lbs or 35 kg Barbell rows: 110 lbs or 50 kg So. The first time i lifted. I was kinda disappointed, but i felt great and am looking forward to Friday! (Might do some gay-ass cardio tomorrow for fatloss) Were my results all that bad?
Tried with loading days?
Hi the anabolic diet was p. much the "it" keto-cycling diet. Eat steak and eggs during week, stuff your gay face with all sorts of shit on the weekend. Like i said, BTDT The only reason I'd ever say cyclic keto diets own is the stuffing your face full of shit on the weekend part. There is very little evidence to suggest that keto diets are superior for fat loss either. In theory, yes, in practice welp not so much. I used to think keto owned... when i was like 69kg. Then I stopped being afraid of carbs and learned how much they owned.

I know i'm only 14, but it's so unfair that you can squat my own body weight on your first day...
50kg isn't a lot [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] at all
50kg isn't a lot [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] at all
Really? Isn't it heavy for someone of my age and size?
Really? Isn't it heavy for someone of my age and size?
What I wanted to say is that pretty much anyone can squat 50kg even the scrawny dudes at my gym
What I wanted to say is that pretty much anyone can squat 50kg even the scrawny dudes at my gym
Yea. I will probably squat heaps more next time. I have never squatted ever in my life. But i guess i have to start somewhere. I think i will progress fast though. I always do. Also: 155 lbs bodyweight.
You''ll jump to 70-80[kg] in a jippy.
What is a good weight to be DB shoulder pressing?
The first time i squatted, i hit 135 repping 10-12 times. I weigh 120, so i dunno if that was good. Of course, my friend pranked me and had me try 250 the first rep. FUCK.
You''ll jump to 70-80[kg] in a jippy.
What do you mean? In fat? I was once 80 kg. But i was a fatty, not muscular :D
I was refering to the bar
What is a good weight to be DB shoulder pressing?
whatever makes you fail at the desired amount of reps .. ?
Tried 105kg squat for the first time today, yey did deep 6 reps clean. Could have done more reps but started to lose form with the last rep :p Here I come 2x bw
Just as everything, a good shoulder press would be bodyweight for reps.
Would any of you recommend me a good bodybuilding/strength training documentary?
