alright, say I wanted to do some quick morning routines to get fit, what would be good? I was thinking one of those 6-week programs where you build up to 200 situps and pushups but I feel like that's also bullshit and a waste of time.
no local gyms, I just have a bike and myself.
On another note, just got back from swimming. My body feels so much more relaxed now, gonna do a major workout tomorrow morning and then go KFC for lunch.
Mmmm

I've got an app very similar to that on my phone so I suppose I'll just hold myself to that.
First day at the gym, hurt my back from bad form :(. Didn't realise I wasn't doing the bent over db rows wrong till the end of the workout. Also, I completely failed at the bench press and it's fucking embarrassing in front of all those guys lifting so much heavier weights. Bad times.

Remember: Form over heavy weight.
Also, don't be embarrassed. Most of these people are very nice!

If you really want something like this without committing to the gym, I'd say walks/runs is your best bet for general health.
This thread's more targeted towards lifting though (hence the title).

It wasn't the weight, I just couldn't get my back position correct when doing the bent over rows.

I did plenty of lifting in high school so I'm not exactly a noodle but I'm no Zyzz either. More worried about my frequent out of breath issues when mowing the lawn but a lot of that is asthma.

HIIT to avoid being out of breath.
You're not going to gain much from a "quick morning routine" if you don't have the proper equipment.

I think it's because my asthma kicks in and I have trouble cycling air easily more than anything, and when it's exhausting to breathe, it's a pain in the ass.
I just want some easy exercises to make me feel better, get a little stronger, etc.

Who gives a shit if you can't bench much? No one is going to say anything, just in the back of their minds they are saying "wow not even 1plate." Not even a big deal.

The easiest exercises you can do are just simple body weight exercises. And you are right, the 100 situp and 100 pushup thing is just plain and simple bullshit.
If I was you, I would simply just start biking a few miles every day. Good cardio.
Quoting because I never got an answer. Advice would be greatly appreciated!
So I'm relatively new to the weightlifting scene (I'm on the normal Starting Strength routine, with the exception of barbell rows instead of power cleans since the gym here at my college doesn't allow it....), and the other day (last Thursday) I kind of strained my right hip adductor. I worked out today but didn't do a whole lot of weight on my squats (2x5x45, 1x5x75, 1x5x105, then 2x5x75 because 105 made it really start hurting(current max is 145 though)). Would it be better for me to just completely rest my legs until it is better, or keep squatting at a low weight, or what? I'm just new and I don't want to fuck anything up because I'd really like to keep progressing....
1st day at the gym in a week. mmmmmmmmmm
Okay, so I need some help building a schedule. I'm 120 pounds, but I can only get to the Gym about 3 times a week (Primary School Gym). They've got your average loadout of equipment, Dumbells, Benches, Medicine balls, Treadmills, Pullup Bars, Bikes, the walking type of bike, ect.
What do, Facepunch.

Reading the fucking sticky would be a start
Ugh. Only had enough milk to fill 1/3 of my protein shake, so I had to use water for the other two-thirds. It tastes every bit as wretched as I'd feared it would. At first it just tastes like vaguely strawberry-ish water, but then you get the aftertaste of the watered-down milk. It's jarringly bad.
In other news, I hit my first plateau today on my bench press. I'm only a little over a month in, so I'm a bit worried that I've hit one so soon. Up until now I haven't had any problems pushing through all my sets, but I only got 5, 5, 5, 4, 3 on my bench press today. Bummer that I wasn't able to complete it, but I'll be able to do it next time. I suppose that, at the very least, occasionally hitting a snag reminds you that you're making progress.
Daww did some HIIT yesterday, now when I woke up my right knee is hurting weirdly.

man, when i see guys "not even benching one plate," i give them props. i give them props because they have the balls to not give a fuck about what anyone else is thinking. also because that was me at one point a few months ago lol

Yea i don't understand it when people make fun of other people for not benching really well when they're beginners. They gotta fucking start somewhere they can't just bench 200 pounds out of the blue.
Also can some more people help me with my issue? I made a thread about it.
<Doesn't bench one plate
<Doesn't give a fuck
<Has a uniform plan instead of going in there and throwing random weights up until it hurts
<loves dick
< is finger banging your sister this very moment
<is dressed up as G71tc's sister
i hate when guys who are a lot bigger than me have bad form. If i tell them, they'll just say: "I'm a lot bigger than you, so i must be doing something right" or something like that.
I find I simply can't do rows, sucks really, whenever I have done them, I can't seem to get it up to my chest. With and empty bar!! I think it's probably improper form, I am most definitely not that weak.
On a lighter note, I am now completely off the smith machine, and my bench press isn't wobbling all mover the place, although it is only 30kg, heh. On that subject, my legs seem to be progressing faster than my upper body, by that I mean, my squat is 70kg, yet my bench is 30kg?
If someone corrects me on form and can explain themselves then there shouldn't be a problem.

Just mind your own business in the gym then. Most people don't take crtizism very well, yet alone if it's coming from a nerde. Just lift stuff up and put it down, let retards have bad form.
people shouldn't get offended. If I can help someone I go ahead and mention something. INBD
