So my mom took me to the doctor so he can explain why I can't take creatine (I told her that I was thinking about it) and so he said that it could cause some damage in the kidneys. I told him from what I read that as long as you take the right amount of doses and drink a lot of water, there are no bad side effects. He recommended me to a sports doctor since I continued to ask questions about weight lifting and he didn't have an answer. Does anybody have a reliable source on Creatine effects?
Just look into studies yourself. Anyways, I pretty much been pushing myself too far. 5 days of lifting, and 4-5 days of intense sparing everyday has caught up with me. Unbelievable doms, still have shin splints, and ontop of all this I have a horrible crick in my neck from being choked out. I can't even move my head without pain. I tried to do shoulders today but I couldn't even do a 20 pound shoulder press without kneeling in pain. Looks like I'm going to take some time off.....

That's not hyperbole, theres a larger body of work and more long term studies than almost any other substance in the nutritional field. And yes it's safe. Your doctor is terribly wrong, Creatine has only been indicated that it might cause kidney damage in people with renal disease, which is hilarious, because your kidneys don't work anyway so you've got bigger problems than worrying about potential damage if you have renal disease. There are studies all over pubmed indicating the benefical uses of creatine monohydrate in a LOT of fields. Hell they are even using creatine supplementation to prevent Alzheimers, to good effect.

i deadlifted for the first time yesterday, and my whole back is sore as fuck, including my traps. is this normal?
Yep. I only started a few weeks ago and I could barely stand up straight for the first bit. Gets easier as you go along, just as long as you don't wreck something.
i deadlifted for the first time yesterday, and my whole back is sore as fuck, including my traps. is this normal?
Are the muscles sore? Or is it something else? If it was the latter, you did something wrong. But not being able to stand up because of fatiqued muscles is fine :P
my entire back is tight as hell, no pain in the joints or spine or whatever though. just the muscles. i was worried my form was off because i didn't expect deadlifts to hit muscles all the way up to the top of the traps
Well, that's news for you then! Deadlifts are great!
What kind of exercises would you guys recommend to get dem huge traps? Kind of like Tom Hardy in his new movie.
Jesus Christ how horrifying. Uh, deadlifts are good for that and numerous other muscles. Shrugs of whatever type are good too.
I got mine naturally big-ass by lifting grocery for years 4 stories high, 4 stories down a few times, 2 times minimum a week. Other than that, dumbbell front shoulder raises. 8-12 reps, for a very short, period. That might be genetics, but fuck it, it worked. Felt the burn like a mother fucker. contrary to most beliefs, I might get sore traps here n there from deadlifts, but they weren't the cause of these.
Alright, nice, i'll try doing those a few times a week. Wait, you mean like these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2ZS1Ae5n90M
Also what's this I hear about being able to work your abs every day? I've been doing them every second day or so like other muscles but is there something special about them?
I've been working my abs every other day as i thought they were the same as other muscles. But I could be wrong too I guess
Just work them as any other muscle.

Sooo, my school offered us to be able to go into the gym after school, It has a bench press and most of the necessary equipment, EXCEPT for a squat rack that uses free weights, theirs just a shitty smith machine. But I can save 54 bucks a month this way.
Went to the gym today. Was awesome, don't know why I ever put it off. The guy who gave me the induction was fucking massive. Motivation x 1000.
YES. All my lifts are going up up up.
yesterday some kid was shrugging 2 plates in the squat rack. i jumped in right after him and squatted 2 plates plus 25s. teehee.
What does one "plate" weigh? There're 40kg, 25kg, 20kg, 15kg, 10kg, 5kg, 2,5kg and 1,25kg plates that I've seen, probably more too.
oh yeah my bad, i was using 45 lb plates so thats like 20kg i think
Alright, thanks.
Just a couple of questions guys! I added in knee raises, weighted dips and pull ups, and front dumbbell raises to my SL today, should this be okay? I felt fine, but there may be problems I am not getting yet. And, on my days off SL, I wanted to do some isolation exercises with those machines that use discs, forget what to call them... But would this too, be alright? Of course I would still have rest days.
Kinda off-topic but how do fellow lifterbrahs deal with acne? Mine seems to be purely hormonal because no cleansers/cream shit works. Should I get test suppressors?
try cleaning your pillow cases more frequently (like once a week) and sleeping on your back. Also that orange neutrogina stuff is p good. if none of that works see a dermatologist
Already change my pillow case everyday and forced to sleep on back because of the cast on my arm. next day, loloutbreak ps. been to a derm, gave me shitty prescription, shit didn't work; I mad. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] funny thing is, a few months ago, I had next to no acne at all (after 2 years of moderate acne). shit restarted in August for no reason at all [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] oh and in the same month of August, my sex drive increased astronomically. seemed like a sudden test spike to me.
"Gonna be outta town Friday, I either go today or it'll screw up my whole schedule....maybe i'll just blah blah excuses blah blah" *'How great I am' video* "What time does the gym close today?"

Strong stuff, recommended everywhere, same with me obviously. and Povidone iodine 10% when they turn red / you blew the white stuff out/ scratched them. 50% more faster healing that's treatment as far as what causes this - masturbation. Don't care what Scholar on google says, it's personal experience. With those two, acne gone = 2 months. Seriously. Apply every night before bed and enjoy acne free life
