Just did squats and wiped my ass all over the ground. Feels good, man.

I read this as "Just did squats and shit all over the ground, feels good man"
Literally LOL'd for a few minutes before re reading it.

I am dissapoint:(
Basically,
Anything you do, main excercises should be around 5 sets, with the rep ranges ranging from 8-12. 8-12 causes more hypertrophy, causing more size, but not neccisarily more strength. There was an article on BB, that 3-5 reps is more strength, maintaining the same size, and 8-12 is size, with not as much strength gain.
I was going to ask why it is I've been working out for almost a year, more or less doubled, even tripled for a few, the weight I do in all my exercises, and barely look any bigger, but I guess that would explain it. I suppose I don't care that much how big I look, but it is always nice.

One of the doctors talking about it, said to balance strenght and size upgrades, he reccomended this.
Say workout A and B are the same workouts, just different reps.
So lets say, monday and friday are your chest and arms days,
Monday, and friday, would be A ( 5 reps or so, strength building) and the NEXT monday would be B (8-12 reps, size building)
And you can switch it for 2 size 1 strenght workout, and just keep doing that for more size.
Just wondering, whats your guys' progress? For my db press, I was finally able to hit 70lbs both sides for about 4 reps after a month and a week of doing 12-10-8 reps (or most of time last set is to highest I can get, like 4 reps) of 55, 60, 65. Is this good or am I doing something wrong?
DB pressing 70 pound on each arm is good man, dont worry about it.
For regular overhead barbell press, i can only hit around 105ish, gotta get dem delts working.
There's a correlation between how heavy you're and to how heavy you can lift. But, it's to a certain extent. It's not a linear line between the two, as one can lift x5, x6 his bodyweight.
Keep racking more weight. It will come eventually.

It's just my fucking friends right now being assholes. I work out, work out, work out, work out, and gain. As i said last year, i was 105 pounds when i started wrestling, i can only bench like 55 pounds, not even.. probably just the bar by itself. But now, i'm 130 pounds and i can bench 115 pounds. Im really happy untill yesterday i told them how much i eat and they just kept going on and on about "you cant eat alot, all you are is gaining fat and you're never gonna get stronger and bigger and you only get fatter"
Okay.. what i asked them and myself? i asked them: how can you gain muscle mass with a 1500 calorie diet? they said you will.. you'll only gain lean mass.
My ass
all they do is fucking bring me down. I've been benching more weights the past month and i can already see improvements and all my friends tell me is "no, you're weak as fuck"
i fucking hate it. Everytime i work out, they just laugh at me. They treat me like i'm a fucking retard.
They think a 3000-4500 calorie diet will only get me fatter and im fucking tired of it.
What i eat:
breakfast i have like 3 eggs with a whole glass of milk and sometimes a protein shake instead of milk
lunch in school: bologna sandwich and like 3 bags of trail mix (only got like 25 minutes to eat in school so i gotta eat fast)
then i have weight training, i do weight training, do cardio in cross country (i don't do that much, i generally miss some practices after i had a big workout so it doesn't interfere)
after weight training or my cardio, i go home, eat anything my mom makes me along with a protein shake which is creatine, glutamine, and whey protein mixed togather. I can still see my six pack even though it has like 3 CM of fat on it.. i didn't gain much fat. I can feel it. oh and before i go to sleep, another glass of milk to close the day off.
usually my mom makes really high calorie food. (lots of chicken, steak, rice, yogurt, shit like that. were arabs, every food we make has to have a fuckload of meat or beans in it)
About 3 weeks ago I started doing calisthenics workouts. My goal right now is to be able to do 20 one-arm pushups. It's gonna take a lot of dedication in my current state, but it'll be worth it
@Region
To start with, those guys sound pretty stupid, they sure as hell don't know what they are talking about. Are you in high school? Because everyone is a dick in highschool, I have at least five friends who take the piss for working out, it's only guys though, chicks seem to be fine with it. But really, fuck those guys, are they even that strong?

Yes i am in highschool and most of them no.. they're just in shape. They do waterpolo so they're pretty toned. They think toned means strong. one of them says he's 122 pounds and keeps denying that i'm 130 pounds. He's the same height as me (5'8") and he's 122 pounds. I'm 5'8" and 130 pounds. He says he can bench double my weight (what?) i seriously don't believe that. The 122 kid thinks he's a weight building enthusiast "dude i'm in big and im gettin bigger" And no, he's not. My posture's awful. I put myself in good posture today infront of the mirror, and i looked awesome. Also that's what one of my good friends said. "you're not skinny but you walk like you're weak as fuck" so that's basically why.. I gotta work on my exterior delts and my posture. My pecs stick out of my shirt when i have good posture and i fucking love it haha. But they basically left me sad the whole day (that was yesterday) all it did was make me work out harder.
Nobody except me does overhead barbell press and calf rises at my gym. Lulz.

A cubic foot of muscle and a cubic foot of fat, which weighs more? Muscle weighs more! What a fucking retard, I guess the author doesn't "get" English. Though, I'm sure they think they're clever as hell with that little quip, I'm also sure they're full of autism.

No it's a retarded saying because actually believe muscle weighs more than fat. If you have 5 pounds of concrete and five pounds of feather, which weighs more?
The correct saying should be and is "muscle is more DENSE than fat"
If something is the same WEIGHT it literally cannot weigh more than something of an equal weight, that is retarded.
Went into gym and started squatting 90kg. Some guy approaches me with a worried expression and asks if I'm okay cause I'm lifting 'a heavy weight'.
I've never seen anyone squat in this gym except myself haha.

No fucking shit five pounds is five pounds. The bitch is a acting like he's a genius when she points that out, but that's just useless nitpicking. This isn't a physics exam. If the amount of substance or volume is unknown x, you can say lead weights more than iron. Muscle weights more than fat, because the volume is unknown and presumably a same constant value for both.
I've barley been able to work out this past week, combination of being sick, and having work right after school ( I workout at school now ).
I'm so pissed. In other words I squatted 280 lbs 5x5 yesterday.

I still can't believe how quickly my squat is going up, I'm mad though that my legs have an 9 inch advantage over my arms in terms of diameter.

I hate squatting on a smith machine, but is it really that bad? Cause I have no choice at my gym.

Im not trying to be rude, dont take it that way. But, over a year, why has your bench only gone up around 20 pounds?? With noob gains alone you should be benching a lot more than that??
And you may be weak, but who gives a shit. Your improving, and getting better.
BTW, did my whole workout perfectly today, did my 5x5 squatting going below parallel for the first time, felt great. Only was hitting 135 -140 for each set, the depth does change weight around. Hoping to go to 160 by 2 weeks from now once my ham's get used to this.

Smith machine = no stabilizers= easier i believe.
Yes, this is true, it's basically like using a machine, is kind of isolates the muscle, but squatting is a compound movement, do you have no choice due to your age or what?
just ate a 1lb chuck angus burger with 6 slices of cheese. Come at me bulk

squatting on a smith machine is BS, you're better off doing dumbbell squats

not over a year. Improved my bench from 95 to 115 in one month.
not over a year. Improved my bench from 95 to 115 in one month.
Oh shit well your doing fine then lol. Noob gains are great, and after that you should be lifting 5-10 pounds more for each month for the first few months, then usually just settles at 5 pounds.
Next time your friends do that shit, just literally get in their face and get angry at them. They wont do anything, and will stop fucking with you.
Either that or they will think you're a testosterone filled prick, life is full of difficulties, if you get mad at every problem, your going to have a very hard time.

So defending yourself from ridicule is being a testosterone filled prick? lol kay pussy.
Being indifferent towards those who mistreat you works wonder most of the time. If nothing else, you develope a thick hide.
