He randomly had those during the opening level too.
well he DID have a radio attatched to his head at that point though, the second level though his shrapnel is probably picking up static
That makes sense. I hope they don't have force Stealth levels, and are not penalized for ignoring stealth completely. I'm sure Stealth will probably be very useful on the higher difficulties, but I don't want to be forced.
I don't think they will be. The way they've been talking, the game is built for multiple playstyles. Sure there might be sections where stealth is better than using full on brute force tactics, but there shouldn't be any forced stealth levels. [editline]27th April 2014[/editline] Also, there's no penalization for ignoring stealth
thought she was giving him a handjob in the bathtub for a sec this looks a lot like bioshock
I took another look at some of the Screenshots on the website. It also has a little bit of Dishonored thrown in there.
Also, there's no penalization for ignoring stealth
Fuckin' finally, tired of taking the quiet route for things
Also I think that the shrapnel making BJ a Veggie is really dumb. Like that's just an impossible chance right there. I thought it was bought on by the General or those mutants. Still game looks neat, If I had extra money I would pre order. Ah well, I'll settle with Tropico in the meantime.
To be honest, since this is still part of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 2009 continuities (which don't count Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny as canon in the story, I think), we're likely expected to just believe he's the biggest badass ever on the planet, plain and simple. He's fought hordes of specially-trained soldiers, advanced super soldiers and cyborgs, the undead and even singlehandedly stopped powers from another dimension from being used by destroying the shit out of them. The fact that shrapnel into his brain only kept him down for twenty years before he liberally jumps right back to nazi slaying in full force via a mix of trauma and fury is a good example of this. His body should probably be weak or crippled, his muscles should've possibly atrophied not unlike how Big Boss was pathetically weak coming out of his nine-year-coma in the Phantom Pain trailers. We're probably not supposed to be looking at it realistically when B.J. is the genre-defining, walking gaming example of a one man army, with or without any sort of super powers.
Actually, Wolfestein 3D and Spear of Destiny are considered Canon. The whole reason Deathshead rose to power was because BJ killed Hitler in Wolf 3D. At least so I've heard. Even if it isn't true, it's still fun to think that. :v:

I think RtCW was meant to be a continuity reboot, despite its name. And the Spear of Destiny would've canonically probably rendered Deathshead's efforts rather moot if it really could've helped the Nazis win WWII by itself.
I just realized, that walker looks more like a Tripod. [sp]Martians?[/sp]
I just realized, that walker looks more like a Tripod. [sp]Martians?[/sp]
all the advanced tech was super alien-like. it's so friggin cool.
I'm not that impressed. Graphics look horrible. Textures are absolute shitte, bloom EVERYWHERE. DoF up the friggin wazoo. I'm probably going to get a lot of boxes/flak from this, but the gunplay looks extremely boring as well. It's stylized like Infinite. There's no gumption to the guns, there is no feeling of threat. They literally highlight the areas you have to shoot, in order to beat the only semi relevant threat that we saw in that video. The only threats that seem ... Threatening to you, look like they're in a frigging cinematic, coupled together with QTE's. The only thing that this game has going for it, is the setting it's in. Also the music seems unfitting at certain points, at others, it's dramatic and becomes a tense atmosphere for the most part. Also. Dude is basically stuck in a wheelchair, while time flies by. Picks up a knife, has the ability to puncture a nazi's throat. Then picks up his pistol; "ugh weak legs, feels like spaghetti, numb hands". 2 seconds later, he's running, jogging, and shooting a pistol like a god damn pro. I understand it's an arcade game, but come on. Why even put it in there? Why not just put, "URGH, ME CAPTAIN, ME STRONG NOW, GO KILL NAZI'S". Otherwise? I don't see the point in buying this. Specially not for $60. $40 at max. I hope they do better with Doom 4.
Honestly how cynical you are about games that we have little knowledge about besides 20 minute long videos makes you come across as a fifteen year old just entering that "I'm going to act really smart and stuck up on the internet phase" This really isn't at all a response to your argument because it really seems unfounded. Rather just a tip. You're coming across as a douche.

I really hope this game is good, but the last non-TES game published by Bethesda Softworks I can remember with this much marketing was Brink.
I really hope this game is good, but the last non-TES game published by Bethesda Softworks I can remember with this much marketing was Brink.
dishonored was marketed heavily

Not the sketchiness of gaming journalism or the side stepping of triple AAA gaming companies. But how cynical modern gamers will be about it all until it hits a point where we can no longer just be excited or have fun, and instead just nitpick every single thing we disagree about the game and it's company.
Although I'm mostly believing RtCW was a reboot I think there's an official video explaining how all the games are connected.
no, that was just them releasing simple little comic-styled recaps of the previous games prior to wolf09.
Was he just triple-tapping the trigger, or was that Luger firing in bursts? Also, it struck me as a bit odd that [sp]the soldiers who came into the room after Anya's parents were killed acted like they weren't supposed to be killing the staff, just patients, but then through the rest of the building there's several dead nurses, only one of whom appeared to be armed[/sp]
I'm assuming that they tried to defend the patients before they were gunned down. I know the Nazi soldiers aren't supposed to shoot the staff but I guess if the Nurses retaliated and fought back then the soldiers would have a good reason to kill them.
Looks rad.
Looks bad. [sp] Not really.[/sp]
Looks Crunk
I love how I'm getting so many dumbs, without any sort of rebuttal to my comment. I mean, I'm not on a bandwagon of hate. I seriously think this game has no values that should make it GOTY, or even a nomination. Either than the amount of effort that went into making it, which is presumably a lot, there are A LOT better looking corridor shooters. This is looking exactly like one, so why does it look like absolute trash in terms of quality? The textures, the excessive amount of bloom, the horrible, HORRIBLE depth of field that makes your eyes hurt. It's not even bokeh, it's like a horrific blur filter applied from photoshop. The Witcher 2 had amazing textures, Metro 2033/Last Light had extremely well done textures for a corridor shooter, and a shitload of varying weaponry. It probably had a smaller budget than this as well. This whole game is just riding on the coattails of the Wolfenstein trademark that we all knew was great for its time, but it should have been buried.
Ok, you don't fancy the game. That's ok. There are probably plenty other games to choose from if this isn't your cup of tea. We understand, time to move on. Time to find the next adventure.

Shooting itself looks fun but the linearity is quite appalling. Yeah I know we're only on like level 2 or something but as it's about an hour into the game I'm not very hopeful that it'll open up at some point. Story also looks interesting but too many scripted bits for my liking (not just from these streams, but the other gameplay too). Gonna get it, but probably later down the line at a much lower price.
There's something about the scene with time passing by while he's in the coma that just really seems so awesome that I have to get it right after it comes out.
