Sargon makes great points sometimes but then he segues into some crazy shit. Look at the Laci Green video he did. He calls women lazy. He's gotten more rational recently though.
I followed Sargon for quite a while regarding GG, once he got better at arguing his points and stopped just shouting about how terrible his opposition was, but I eventually stopped paying any attention to him. It wasn't about his arguments though, it was him describing himself as anti feminist. Seeing videos pop up my YT feed saying things like 'Why I hate the feminists' or posts on Twitter about how feminism is ruining lives.
I know it's a misunderstanding, I know what he says is valid when you ignore what he calls his opposition. But I simply can't be associated with someone who calls himself anti feminist. It's sad considering that by my definition Sargon himself is a feminist.
Look honestly I'll come out and say that she is a perfect example of White Feminism, where white people will stand up for people who they assume can't have a voice because society dictates that
You could see she got shocked when that Asian woman spoke up about people having different opinions, almost like "how can you agree to this??!?!? cant you see im trying to HELP you"
Also I don't like that privilege thing but in some cases (please do not flame me) whites do have it better than other groups, we only need to look at the police brutality in America for that - but that's not to say all whites have it better
She's slippery but honestly everyone no matter what side they're on should be allowed to voice an opinion no matter how stupid it is as long as they're willing to have a healthy argument about it
shouting about how terrible his opposition was.
At a certain point its best to just call people terrible instead of debate or argue with them. When a religious person tries to justify slavery or a radfem tries to redefine rape or sexism to exclude men its fair. Hell, why even bother trying to argue with someone like Roosh Vee when they want rape legalized?

That is without a doubt true. However the people that complain about privilege almost always throw aside the economics. A wealthy black person almost certainly has more "privilege" than a poor white or asian person.
man she literally said "the whiteness of oxford and the union is deplorable"
can she please just leave and start solving her own problem

That's what I'm trying to get at, it's really a lucky dip into life to be born into a family with wealth, it's just harder to get on your feet when your poor no matter your race however when you add on social stereotypes, you get what I'm saying
I was going to do a drinking game, taking one whenever she said the word "discourse" but I've decided I like my liver.
Also I love the obligatory mention of the evil gamergaters and how they're evil and going to eat women.
These threads always suck. We always have people who just want to spout "NOT ALL FEMINISTS ARE LIKE THIS, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE THE EVIL SJWs OR SOMETHING?????". Yes we realize this. We came here to laugh and make fun of extremists. Nobody here hates egalitarianism. No, we don't believe that the feminists are going to bulldoze our houses. No, we don't care about how tumblr has good posters on it. That is not the subject of the thread, the subject is "Let's make fun of this idiot", not "OMG I HATE FEMINISM TUMBLR IS TERRIBLE JOIN ME MY /POL/ BRETHEREN".
Social justice minded people in SH keep saying that these people don't exist but I keep seeing them existing.
Because people who say that don't see themselves as bad.
I blame the soviets for this shit.

That would be true if the rampant blanketing of all feminists as these people on the internet was not a thing. If a large amount of the internet was not so fast as to stereotype everyone in the worst possible light then everyone would just be laughing along with you. We don't live in a world free from bogus stereotyping and people, especially those fighting to break gender barriers, are quick to clear up negative stereotypes. Imagine if we lived in a world where gamers were not the primary dwellers of the internet and every time a video of some 600 pound person in a cheeto stained shirt and MLP fedora who has never even seen a female before gets ingrained in people as to what every gamer looks and acts like. The loud minority argument isn't even relevant because those who call for male subordinence are not even the loudest ones and they are a total small fringe group in the movement.
It would be nice if we could all agree that not everyone sees all feminists like this but sadly that is not the case and until it is actually resolved those who actually care about the movement will have to act as damage control.

Except we actually do see these types of people as negative. Let's say that, like many people on this website, you are a liberal, left-wing ideal type of person. Having someone go and blow up all non state owned businesses and then claim "LOOK I'M ONE OF YOU I AM TOO A LEFT-WING LIBERAL" is not going to help your case and you are going to think they are bad. While you may agree with them on some points, you would also say that blowing up businesses is taking it too far. Literally the exact thing happening here. Those in the "males should suffer for the years of female persecution" group do say some things and have some of the same ideals that the rest of us would say/think, but the extent they are going is too far.

But do they exist or is that just a myth? That is the question.
The only people complaining about privilege are the ones too privileged to complain about anything else.

Well sure, but is that happening in this thread? No? Then you're kinda proving Sock Accnt's point. You've come in here and made assumptions about the people posting here and literally done what he's describing people as doing.
And nobody denies that these insane right wingers exist or that they can have a negative affect on our society.
That's because insane right wingers make up a large part of the US government and are directly impacting social policy as we speak (see the republican party). These tumblr feminists SJWs you crusade against have literally zero social power.
But do they exist or is that just a myth? That is the question.
Yea they exist you just saw one in this thread's video. I don't really think you need me to tell you what is real or not.

Except my first post in this thread was responding to his comment about all threads like these, which in general, and in this thread, have comments about how all feminists are like this, or at least how the movement does not have ground because of people like this.
[editline]25th August 2015[/editline]
Also I made no assumptions about people in this thread except that they play games, an assumption I can back up with the fact that this forum is for a video game. I made assumptions about the internet that I can back up with sources too if you want me to.

You have just voided the rest of your debate.
Listening to her say "Discourse" was like listening to Tai Lopez say "Lamborghini"
Social justice minded people in SH keep saying that these people don't exist but I keep seeing them existing.
I can definantly agree with you on that.

They can have power in educational institutions in which they are able institute policies such as Speech Codes and questionable usages of the Title-9 act that are worrying to institutions like FIRE (the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education). Questionable individuals can also be a part of very powerful political lobbies like the NOW organization where they can often slip under the cracks.
And that's also ignoring that fact that bigots, regardless of their stature, should be questioned and criticized no matter what, right? It seems fallacious to argue the whole "there are bigger problems, why are you worried about individual rights when there are starving children in Africa" speel when we're in a thread on a web forum talking about a specific topic. It would be nice if more people were informed about the differences between branches of theories regarding social justice, feminism, etc. But certainly I feel like the people in this thread have been clear in making that distinction and that it's the people who are getting upset and proclaiming "not all x are like this" who are making assumptions about the people who post here.
This was fucking incredible.
I mean the whole thing is like satire. The best is whenever she gave somebody a chance to reply it was usually something very powerful and biting that utterly demolished her and resulted in the crowd cheering.

His point was that people often come into threads and make an assumption about the intent of the people who post. You've come into this thread and made an assumption about the intent of the people who post here. The assumption being that the people here cannot make the distinction between radicals/extremists and individual members of a group.
I can definantly agree with you on that.
because you saw a poster with brianna wu's face on it on a single campus' "gaming" department
lol okay
I don't see why people are asking if these types of feminists exist. Like they obviously exist, no one has ever claimed they don't exist, but there fact that they exist does not change anything about the normal feminists out there. Like going up to a right-wing voter and being like "DID HITLER EXIST HE WAS A FASCIST SO HE IS RIGHT-WING" is not going to change their voting preferences at all or anything, nor are they going to be like "Hitler never existed now stop saying there are any bad apples in our bunch."
"I did my research, YOU SAID IT"
"Where? When?"
"2013! Looks it up!"
oh my god wat

Because people have said that they either don't exist or people shouldn't be talking about them, but the reality is that they do exist and their beliefs are rather problematic and so should be talked about.
His point was that people often come into threads and make an assumption about the intent of the people who post. You've come into this thread and made an assumption about the intent of the people who post here.
I'll type out my intent on every sentence because I don't see where I am making assumptions about the intent of people who are posting on this thread.
That would be true if the rampant blanketing of all feminists as these people on the internet was not a thing.
There is a stigma attached to feminism on the internet.
If a large amount of the internet was not so fast as to stereotype everyone in the worst possible light then everyone would just be laughing along with you.
The internet as a whole likes to stereotype people and group them. From things as innocent as different threads for different games to less innocent things like calling all people who follow Islam terrorists.
We don't live in a world free from bogus stereotyping and people, especially those fighting to break gender barriers, are quick to clear up negative stereotypes.
Stereotypes exist in the world, all under false pretences. Activists of any kind are usually out to try to remove a stereotype, from the NAACP trying to get rid of the stereotype that blacks are not as good as white people are in certain areas, one of their main concerns is academics, to feminists who fight to say that women and men are equal and that women do not have some biological subordinance that allows them to be treated the way they are treated.
magine if we lived in a world where gamers were not the primary dwellers of the internet and every time a video of some 600 pound person in a cheeto stained shirt and MLP fedora who has never even seen a female before gets ingrained in people as to what every gamer looks and acts like.
Now I will agree with you here that this is an assumption. The way I made this assumption was because this website is a forum for a mod for a video game. Thus I made an educated guess that the most targeted approach for this analogy would be someone who plays video games. I'm sorry if I insulted you or miscatigorized you, A Sock Accnt, or any other person who read this sentence and did not fall under this assumption.
The loud minority argument isn't even relevant because those who call for male subordinence are not even the loudest ones and they are a total small fringe group in the movement.
When you look at the amount of people who identify as some sort of feminist and the work they have done to get their message across, for example, Emma Watson speaking at the UN, compared to the small minority of people whose main way of trying to get things done is to shitpost on tumblr, I think my point valid. If you have complaints about this sentence too please tell me and I'll try to clear it up more.
It would be nice if we could all agree that not everyone sees all feminists like this but sadly that is not the case and until it is actually resolved those who actually care about the movement will have to act as damage control.
Finally a summarizing sentence just in case someone skimming the thread saw that paragraph I wrote and didn't want to read the whole thing. More of a common courtesy point.
If there is anything in this post you want me to clear up/did not think I said my true intent of one of the sentence please tell me and I'll try to clear up my post more.
I hurt my back while deadlifting earlier today. When she started using Gamergate as an example I fucking threw my hands in the air and gawked my whole body in an awkward angle and felt my back start to cry out in pain.
Freedom of speech hurts.
"We want freedom of speech by censoring people"
