Just saw it, amazing CGI and action, really makes you excited when you're watching it. Sadly the story itself is a bit dull after the initial setup that seemed to hold a lot of promise. I was also amazed at the amount of Star Trek references in the movie, loved how they got Leonard to say "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" during it. Also that was my first Transformers movie and I knew nothing about it before I went to see it, would go see the next one.
this is the last one (by michael bay, the series will probably be rebooted within 4-5 years because of hollywood).
I'm disappointed to be honest. I was ready only to enjoy this movie for some badass action but I feel we didn't get that much of it. As for the story, no surprise it's called the CoD of movies, but I was let down by some characters. [sp]Near the end Optimus went into this merciless mode and killed everything in his path and in very gruesome ways. I thought that wasn't something Optimus would do but that's me. A lot of new characters said like one or two lines but that was expected. Though I hoped Soundwave would get more space and especially didn't get killed so easily. For some reason Shockwave got more screentime and I didn't care about him at all. Then Megatron. Why was he even in this movie? He looked like Transformer hobo and not the leader of Decepticons, a girl made him go after Sentinel Prime and then he died in about 2 seconds.[/sp] I guess the trailer just made me too much excited about the action.
So many plot holes. I feel like the first 2 hours of the movie didn't matter. Just skip to the end and remove Sam and his bitch girlfriend.
Watched it, it was a pretty good [del]fireworks display[/del] movie.
Watched it, it was a pretty good [del]fireworks display[/del] movie.
oh you
i only watched this movie to find this guy overall, it's was alright
[sp]Megatron should come back as Galvatron and be the harbinger of Unicron. Or something.[/sp]
Seriously, the chick serves NO FUCKING PURPOSE. Also, the main baddie, isn't he always in love movies? Good to see him in something serious.
Should I see this? I mean, it doesn't have Megan Fox so it can only be better.
Having absolutely loved the first one and enjoyed the second one I can say that Dark of the Moon was fantastic. It was funny(even if stupid), the action was second to none and, this may just be my 16 year old self talking, but I actually didn't mind the romance subplot, as contrived as it seemed. The movie was great, guys. Go see it. Also, [sp]Patrick Dempsey and Leonard Nimoy being bad guys makes me sad :([/sp]. Stupid how they [sp]killed Megatron AND Starscream, though. Even though they as characters weren't that flushed out, they're integral to all the stuff that happens in the series[/sp].

Now I see him in every movie. My friends and I play "where's waldo" when we watch movies. I spotted him in Transformers 3 before they did.
The action really was second to none! But the film made no sense :O So the decepticons protected the location of the ark.. until Optimus had the matrix and could reactivate Sentinel.. ok.. Not to mention the fact that that matrix was hidden for thousands of years so relying on it was kind of stupid. AND The Fallen actually had the matrix and instead of the deal with Sentinel being realised... he was gonna blow the sun up. And then the fact that megatron was so "outraged" that Sentinel was going to be in charge yet he happily took orders from the fallen. Also wth when optimus took megatrons head off :O but I mourned ironhide. Shame none of the other transformers did...
This movie was about as Michael Bay as it gets. Explosions, supercars, supermodels, but no actual substance whatsoever. I honestly don't remember anything that happened in the whole movie. Only thing I remember was that random piece of newspaper that practically saved the world.

Do I need to have seen the second to enjoy/understand the third? Because I really don't want to.
oh michael bay Some guy says it has to do with that accident that happened during a chase sequence, he's probably right, but still this is funny.

I thought it was great, didn't expect much more than what I got (story wise) and the action was fantastic. The final battle was just a liiiittle long. They could have cut out some of Sam's stuff and the battle would be more baringful. Megatron was much less important in this one though.
Fresh from Reddit
he also recycled footage from The Island http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/transformers-shia-says-hes-done-michael-bay-recycles-footage
Remember the UAV scene in the first transformers? He also used it again in Transformers 2. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline] THIS. I WAS FUCKING RAGING.
holy fuck he reused 5 seconds of footage oh no I really don't see it as a problem?
I guess after filming a 2 hour fight scene between completely cgi moving tansforming robots in an entire city, Michael Bay couldn't really be bothered filming yet another car crash again after his first edit of it didn't work out. I'm sure lots of directors have done this cut him a bit of slack. Although it is hilarious trying to find them.
I don't get how Optimus Prime got stuck with those ropes. He was like stuck there for at least 10 minutes during the movie.
holy fuck he reused 5 seconds of footage oh no I really don't see it as a problem?
It just makes him look like a cheapskate. Can't he just spent it on something new? Just look at the fucking budget!
Fernando! I first saw him on chuck. Now I see him in every movie. My friends and I play "where's waldo" when we watch movies. I spotted him in Transformers 3 before they did.
If you noticed the guy who plays Jeff on Chuck was in this at the same time as that other guy. I think my favorite thing about the movie was seeing Alan Tudyk(Wash from Firefly). I didn't know he was in it until I saw it. He was a pretty funny character too.
Just got back from this, I liked it more than the first two but I feel like Michael Bay once again made the mistake of focusing on the humans
I don't get how Optimus Prime got stuck with those ropes. He was like stuck there for at least 10 minutes during the movie.
Next movie: The Decepticons kill Optimus using giant heaps of rope.
Just got back from this, I liked it more than the first two but I feel like Michael Bay once again made the mistake of focusing on the humans
^ This, so much. Whenever a transformer scene starts to get interesting, it cuts back to Sam's daily life, and it annoys me sooo much.
Better than the second one, still incredibly shitty though. The film is too long, the Transformers are still the supporting cast and too much shitty comic relief in the film. But, I'm sure kids will love that film, the humour is still incredibly juvenile. And Michael Bay should have never mentioned the Challenger explosion, it's really fucking insulting.
Oh my god it was so sad watching [sp]Starscream flailing around after being stuck by a puny human[/sp] and [sp]Optimus brutally murdering Megatron[/sp] also a somewhat interesting story: I went to see the movie in not-3D originally, but about halfway in there was an altercation in the theatre involving a racis-ass bitch so they stopped the movie and I went back today and saw it in 3D for free
