The first one is still the best. I loved the first one because it tried to fit the whole Transformers idea into a real life situation, and pulled it off brilliantly. The whole scene with the helicopter landing and transforming is a fucking masterpiece. I actually found the characters (besides Megan Fox) kind of likeable. I realise the whole "people growing to accept the transformers" thing but then they should have just stopped the whole series after the first one. This and the second one were just clusterfucks of pointless, irritating, awkward subplots and mindless CGI. The first one, while obviously unrealistic, had a believable timeline and a properly fleshed out story with an adequate conclusion. This, however, was full of annoying coincidences which had they not occured would have ended the series then and there. The explanations of the villains were horrible, and the entire thing just seemed like a CGI version of the cartoon with added sex appeal and blatant high-budget circlejerking. TF1 was (mostly) not this, which is why I loved it.
2 had the best fight scene in the series though
saw it yesterday because a friend roped me into it garbage as expected [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] also Alan Tudyk from Firefly was in it and he was EASILY the best human in the whole movie
Just watched this. It was alright, but a few things annoyed me. 1st one was the best. Not sure if i liked it more then the 2nd one. [sp] 1. What happened to the Railgun? Surely they would have made more or put it on something that could actually go on land or get close enough for a shot. 2. Where was the army during all this? Huge lack of Jet, Helicopter, boat, Tank etc fights. Think i saw 2 LAV's or something and that was it. 3. Why didn't the military of each nation stop the Decepticons placing the pillars? It's not like it would be them vs every Decepticon at once 4. Generic Decepticons - i think there was only 3 of them which were actual characters 5. Couldn't get Jets or UAVS in, so they send in Helicopters.... 6. Lack of other Autobots such as Arcee who survived the 2nd movie 7. Killing off characters all the time - E.g Ironhide, the old autobot guy, Half of the NEST team before they even got a shot off 8. Why not use the Grenade launcher they know work against them? 9. It's obvious why they didn't do it (it's a movie) but stuff like that is what nukes are for 10. First thing we see of his new girlfriend is her ass [/sp]
[sp]Also Jolt wasn't there from the second movie, he was the blue car that was well, basically used electricity as a weapon. Sad the twins weren't there though[/sp]
I miss Jolt more than the Twins.
I wanted to see Skids get disintegrated by Sentinel and Mudflap going to him and beating the shit out of Sentinel. Then he gets shot with acid also but doesn't stop punching. I really wanted to see that part.
