That chair seems to be uncomfortable to sit on for 11 years
its a tech demo chill out

Just a demo, but it's still pretty cool. You can see a manhack is what the swarm is basing it's movement off of.

just to find something to give me hope.

Gabe's hammered a crowbar while saying "these things, they take time" 3 years ago and people forgot about it after a week. I don't see the point in doing something similar.
3 years ago, you say?
But the hardest one of all is the achievement for turning off your PC, leaving the house, meeting a nice girl, taking a sailing boat around the world, having three beautiful blonde children, and finally dying content with the knowledge that you didn’t spend twelve years waiting for an utterly pedestrian sequel to a game that everyone stopped caring about around 2010 to be released by a developer that makes John Romero look on the ball.
This is ultimately what it boils down to. The game will be good, but nothing worth waiting years and years for. Gaming has moved on, we have moved on, and I imagine the only reason people even care about Half Life 3 (or Half Life) anymore is they just want it to be over.
3 years ago, you say?
In a promotional video for a game that's since been canned, no less.

It's not like waiting takes effort.
Seriously, the fact this actor manages to do this well with a character like freeman would put some hollywood studios to shame in terms of ability.
I don't take Freeman to be a necessarily complex character. Sad and Longing for something is basically all it was. [editline]8th February 2015[/editline]
It will never come out sadly... singleplayers aren't that trending nowadays, and i think Valve makes plenty money with DOTA 2, CS:GO and TF2. Still enjoyed the video.
Single Player games aren't trending? Some of the top games of last year were single player only.
To this day I have not played Episodes 1 and 2. When they announced Episode 1, I said to myself "I'm gonna wait until all three episodes are out, and play them back to back, so I don't have to just play a series of cliffhangers" :|
There's no way you avoided spoilers that long
I don't take Freeman to be a necessarily complex character. Sad and Longing for something is basically all it was
PhD in theoretical physics. Went from just going to work, to becoming a mass murder of armed military personnel in under two days. Just because he never talked doesn't mean he didn't have a personality.

im pretty sure we will hear about hl3 when source 2 is on its feet

I still remember reading a review about Episode 2 that stated: "We might get Episode 3 as late as the end of 2009." Yeah, IMAGINE THAT.
why don't they just come out and say that they're stuck and have put it on ice for now, it's obvious what's happening
I would've understood if they did that 5 years ago. It'd satisfy me fully if I could just get a simple date on it. Hell I'd be fine with a decade number. "It'll happen in 201X" 'cause we've already wrecked half the decade waiting so at least we know that part wasnt it.
I think it's a bigger PR disaster to not say ANYTHING about HL3/Ep3 within the last 7 1/2 years. Sometimes remaining silent is a good thing; you don't want to build hype where you shouldn't. But 7 1/2 years? I can't blame fans for feeling neglected, or even feeling like Valve no longer cares about Half-Life. Honestly, if Valve came out tomorrow and said "Half-Life 3 IS (or is not) in development, we're sorry we've been silent about it but we want to show you when we're ready," that would alleviate this whole situation. But no, not a word.
Except, they have said that. Not outright "We're making Half life 3!" but they have said it's being worked on and several times over the past few years they've even said why it's taking so long and they haven't shown it yet. It has not been 7 years of Valve saying nothing at all about the series.
