Why didn't Notch just take the Minecraft money and run? Instead of using all his money on this shitty office, and the salary of all those people. They're never going to sell a game again, Minecraft was pure luck.

Well, here's a revelation for you:
most indie developers don't make games they see a market for, they make games that they want to make.

I don't think you fully grasp how business works. Not saying that what they've spent it on how is how it should be, but if you earn a shit ton of money from something, you don't run away with it like you've won the lottery.
Pretty cool but the editing and music in this is so obnoxious..
I wanted to comment on the music, too.
The office looks alright, a bit messy. They really hit the jackpot with Minecraft.
Yeah they got really lucky.
I wonder if anyone's actually going to buy into Scrolls because it just looks ridiculously uninteresting
From what I gathered from an interview MC made so much money they don't really have to care whether Scrolls makes profit or not.
This reminds me of entertainment 720 from Parks and Recreation.
That Minecraft money's going to run out one day :v:
"Hey guys it's was great having you here but we are going on vacation now...Bye forever."
Still not as a good as Valve.
So that's how much people it takes to create a half assed horse mod.

It really is.

they have a gaming zone but where is the vacation zone
Most offices have kitchens, or at least they do in Britain for our tea
It doesn't look serious at all. It's just bunch of computers, a kitchen and a goddamn gaming zone, which is painted in black and has Xbox 360. Also pinball machine and pool(NOT the swimming one, surprisingly).
So just like any other non-shithole office is what you're saying?
studies show that the architecture does huuuuuge amounts of good if it's open, homely, etc
The typical usual offices are extremely inefficient, makes people tired, discouraged, etc.
Offices should be built in mind for the people who are going to be working there; making them want to go to work every day, make good effort and not slag off.
Saw a good british documentary on this shit called "The Secret Life of Buildings"
Notch is just playing games and they have too many workers not really working on anything.
