There is no doomed timeline, as John -can't- stay dead at the moment. He did not die heroically.
Scratch is saying that, if John stayed dead, Karkat's first conversation with him could not have happened.
He's also saying that it wouldn't be much of a story if the human Hero of Breath stayed dead, and the alpha timeline can't allow that.
He's also making a little jibe at how Tavros is dead, and how he didn't have a big impact on the story.

If anyone is wondering what happened to me (since I was a chat officer on the group), Cheesesteak threatened to ban me from the Minecraft server, so I removed some of my own buildings (and only my own). As a result, he decided to ban me from the group chat, the server, and then the group itself, in order to prevent me from pointing this out.
If there's another group vote for a new chat officer, I recommend whoever Lucinice votes for. Good luck in the future, FPMSPA, you've been great friends, and I bear no ill-will to you guys. It's been really cool hanging out. You guys all know my Steam ID if you want to play TF2 or mock DA pictures in the future.
