I'd say there's a good chance we'll get an answer to most of our questions.

I think certain large things could be left untouched easily enough.
Like the denizens. A lot of people seem to want to see them, and yet they don't really play any role beyond being concepts and possible late game foes. Right now they're just background detail, a little bit of flavor text and the occassional environmental tidbit, and actually going into what they are or how they act or how the game was supposed to be played if you fought them can probably be glossed over and it wouldn't matter at all.
I guess I kinda hope not everything is explained, even the more pressing stuff, because a few remaining mysteries are always a good thing. Imagine how boring the Lord of the Rings would be if near the end of the book Tolkien just started wrapping up EVERYTHING.
That's why my copy of Lotr has a massive series of appendices dedicated solely to lore
