And math
you put economics and petrol on your top tier... right. your list isn't very good.
Yes some of those can make you lots of money, but those fields have little job outlook.
Robotics. :smug:
I'm a Geography major with a minor in History, third tier Political Science and Social Studies Composite certification. You can take your engineering and computer crap and shove it, I'm not going to college so I can get a massive salary while sitting behind a desk doing jack shit all day. I'm going to college so I can fulfill my dream of being a football coach/teacher, which is probably one of the most useful jobs in the world. You wouldn't be anywhere without your teachers.
I love playing the drums, it's honestly my life's passion. Going to music school will be amazingly beneficial for my playing. It's not about the degree. And I don't really care if I end up making shit tons of money, chances are I won't. But if I can live, doing what I love, what I have a passion for, I'm happy. This thread is shit tier.
ITT: Op trolled and won. Any not in "god tier" is pissed lmao.
(btw, i go to school for art(illustration), so fuck u op lol)

you're bad at playing drums so it doesnt even matter
Art is for decadent pigs! Great men work for for the country!

Better to be shit and happy than successful and fucking insane.
:colbert:
you disagree? I swear almost every highschool kid 4-5 years ago jumped on the psychology bandwagon.
Simply not enough demand for them, compared to the numbers of them already out there looking for jobs.
Just cause you guys took the easy road and went with shit degrees doesn't mean you should blindly defend them.
Just cause you guys took the easy road and went with shit degrees doesn't mean you should blindly defend them.
I took a shit degree and I wouldn't certainly defend it. Good thing I'm going to Depaul in the fall for business.
Do you people understand why art is shit tier?
It's cause it's almost impossible to make millions in it. You barely get paid. And you usually don't do shit after you get your art degree.

Acting: The easy road
you heard it here first folks

I believe you're missing something. I think it's called the point.
Education is about more than making money, if people dont realize that by the time they get to university... well... Why even bother?
you put economics and petrol on your top tier... right. your list isn't very good.

what the fuck are you talking about little job outlook?
Any decent engineer with a master's in any of the fields he listed will always be able to find a job, especially in petrol engineering.
Psychology? Shit?
Oh hells no.
Wait... Psychology and Teaching are in the "shit" tier? 'Scuse me, but what the fuck are you basing your criteria on other than average income? Do you just think clinical psychologists and teachers aren't needed and education in those fields aren't either? While any Psychology degree pre-MA won't be useful in that career path, it's a widely competitive and practiced field. One that I myself have a passion for.
Just because it statistically doesn't make loads of cash doesn't make the education and field any less useful. Please, get a better basis on judging something, perhaps by it's merit, rather than average annual income before you call an educational and professional field "shit".
You'd hope those good tier ones get you paid the most, the courses cost a fucktonne.
OP is a dumb fuck who thinks higher average salary = more useful
Why do Americans call University: College?
You'd hope those good tier ones get you paid the most, the courses cost a fucktonne.
Not in england :smug:
SHIT TIER:
English, Literature, Drama, Art, Psychology, Film Studies, Creative Writing, Music, Theatre, Languages/Linguistics,
OP is obviously an uncreative douche.
The ultimate job is a Train Driver. You sit down all day pushing leavers and get paid £40,000 a year for doing so.

you're bad trolling so it doesnt even matter
The ultimate job is a Train Driver. You sit down all day pushing leavers and get paid £40,000 a year for doing so.
And you can take strikes any time you want
[editline]11:53PM[/editline]
and still get paid
Art degrees are absolutely useless. Nobody who buys art at a gallery will ask to see the artist's degree before they purchase a piece. Additionally, if you're referring to digital artists who work on collaborative projects like websites, animated films, or stock art galleries, a degree will usually make a job much harder to find. The employer will look at the applicant's portfolio to determine if they get the job. A degree just means that the artist will immediately expect higher wages.
Instead of wasting money on a degree, contact a well-known artist and offer them money to train under them. Not only will you get actual experience but you will learn the business aspect of it and all the little things they don't teach in college. You may meet people that will make life as an artist much more profitable. Also, if an employer is a fan of the artist you trained under, you have a very good chance of being hired.
Actually if you do as you say, contact a well known artist, you will in fact pay more than if you went to a decent art school. Depending on what city you live in, I personally know people who go to schools that cost them around $10,000 a year, including supplies. Once you factor in buying your own supplies as well as paying a well known artist, it winds up being about equal.
Yay, 3rd highest on the chart.
