you can watch any amount of the show you want and have an opinion there is not set amount of time you have to watch the show to form an opinion on it
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
;32386194']So are you or are you not trying to say that people enjoying a girls' children's cartoon because of the content are not normal while having a sexual fetish for characters of a children's show, aimed at young children, and produced by 4Kids Entertainment? Because if we're talking character attacks of an entire community, I think that your own character should be up for dispute as well.
This isn't about salty peanut's character though. This is a debate regarding My Little Pony. You don't win debates by going "Oh yeah? Well, you fap to pokemon porn! This completely invalidates all your points!".
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
Please don't start this
MLP: FiM I will have to say is actually really good, but you have to atleast watch the first 4 episodes to have a real opinion.
i do not care if someone only sees a screencap of the show and decides it's not for them if you don't want to watch a girl's show then nobody should blame you.

0:00-1:53 That was beautiful. Also protip: 90% of over zealous pony fans are trolls. Especially the ones that say the plot is deep.
presumably it's just a stupid excuse but I hear it enough that I suppose maybe one person does it's like the dumb douchebags who play a game almost solely based on the graphics
Crysis...
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
Nah, that's an extremely excessive amount and bordering on desperation. If they don't like the show after an episode, they aren't going to like it after another.
Isn't this a logical fallacy of some sort? The name escapes me right now.
I think it's referred to as the Chewbacca Defense on TvTropes, dunno about the rest of the net.
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
thats like saying i need to go to every westboro protest to say they're assholes
Isn't this a logical fallacy of some sort? The name escapes me right now.
Commonly coined the "Strawman Fallacy", in essence it's when you attack a vulnerability or a "Strawman" (something that can't hit back) to win something or bring up something unrelated in general to bring attention away from something.
I think it's referred to as the Chewbacca Defense on TvTropes, dunno about the rest of the net.
Chewbacca is just when you try and confuse the shit out of your opponent by bringing up random shit. Usually it just makes you look like a tard.
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
nope because by the end of the series things could be completely different in episodes 4-6 of That 70's Show the characters are all pretty shallow and non complex, even stereotypes, but by the end of the series they've all become 3 dimensional characters that you care about. A show can change so much in just a few episodes that picking a select few is not going to give you a good representation of the entire series.
and even then, the show (and games) are targeted for males and females ages ~8 to 16, which is closer to our age
Eh, not quite. The ESRB rates the main Pokemon games E, which is placed between ratings designated to signify content for three and ten year olds. So 4-9 years is supposedly the Pokemon game audience "sweet spot".

I'm not invalidating his points, I'm getting around to showing him that even if it's not normal, it shouldn't matter, because people can do whatever they want, and should be able to. If he were arguing the actions of the community and only that, I wouldn't have mentioned it, but he made a character attack on the community and I simply intend to show that character attacks are stupid and often hypocritical, using the most obvious and personal aspect available to Salty. I have all the respect for Salty in the world, and I'm not attacking his character. I'm attacking his character attack by attempting to show hypocrisy.

Lauren Faust is a feminist. She wanted to create a show that could be enjoyable for both sexes. Hasbro approached her after (fun-fact) Michael Bay made a killing off of Tranformers. Their objective was to sell toys, and so they gave her huge creative freedom provided it sold toys. Faust's objective is to break the gender barrier.
31. How do people such as bronies factor into this situation? What distinctions between a "boys/guys" show, a "girls/gals" show, and a "family" show should and should not exist, to you? I love the idea of “all ages” entertainment - media that is enjoyable to male and female, young and adult. But the perception currently out there is that, if the main character is a girl, or if a significant portion of the cast is female, it is “for girls” only and exclusively. And usually, if something is planned for both genders, it means most of the characters are boys - and that maybe, if you’re lucky, there are a couple of girls who get to tag along. I long for the day that female characters are not considered novel. At the same time, it’s hard to ignore the evidence that some specific content will attract mostly women and girls and that other content will mostly attract men and boys. I think that’s okay too - not to mention fun. The problem is the positively ancient issue that a girl will watch a show or a movie about a boy - but a boy won’t watch a show or movie about a girl.
To form a valid opinion about 4-6 Episodes.
Think of it logically. If someone doesn't like the first episode, or even the first 5 minutes, do you REALLY think they'll watch more just because you say they have to?
;32386283']I have all the respect for Salty in the world, and I'm not attacking his character. That doesn't seem that hypocritical to me.

It has no factoring in whether the fandom should be accepted, or who should watch the show.
